1.
I stepped off the plane at Incheon Airport and headed towards the baggage claim to grab my suitcases, the rest of my clothes having been shipped earlier and already placed inside my new apartment. I grabbed my bags from the conveyor belt after only having to wait around five minutes for them. I then headed outside to try and find the company car that I was told would be waiting for me. After scanning the crowd I found the man holding the sign with Nari Evans written on it and made my way over to him. "Hello, I'm Nari," I greeted with a slight bow. He greeted me kindly and took my bag, telling me to follow him to the waiting car.
I climbed into the back seat of the car and stared out the window, thinking about how I had ended up in this situation in the first place.
~Flashback to a Week Ago~
"Can't you just send someone else. Like I don't know someone actually trained to be a personal assistant?" I asked my boss bitterly. She had just told me that I was going to be the new personal assistant for a group signed by our sister company Big Hit Entertainment in Korea. They wanted a young person to do the job so that they would be closer to the ages of the members of said group and I was the only person at the company under 30 who spoke Korean, and that's how I ended up here. I have never really been an assistant before, unless you count when I was an intern here during my junior and senior years of university. And even then it was more of the occasional food run, but it mainly focused on sorting out minor equations. I am an accountant, I do math and stats, I don't talk to people. I'm a math nerd for Christ's sake, my social abilities are limited at best!
"But none of the trained ones are anywhere close to your level of fluency in Korean, and it's not like it will be a hard job. You'll be hanging out with the boys and making sure they don't get into trouble and keep their appointments." My boss replied with a slightly pained smile. She didn't really like it either, but it's easier to train someone as a personal assistant, then get them to learn an entirely new language. I sighed "Fine, it's not like I have much of choice anyways."
She let out a squeal of happiness, yes an actual squeal. "Thank you, you'll be leaving for Seoul at the end of the week, so please prepare all of your things as you'll be staying over there for at least a year. You will be staying with the boys. They are a boy group called Bangtan Boys, and you'll have your own room in their dorm. You'll have the rest of the week off so that you have time to get ready. That's all" She finished and made a hand motion showing that I could leave.
~End Flashback~
"Hmm," I mumbled when I felt the car come to a stop in front of tall building. "This is it," The driver said stepping out of the car and coming around to open my door for me. He handed me a key and told me that the dorm was on the 14th floor of the building. "The boys are currently practicing at the studio, and should return later tonight," He informed me before getting back into the car and driving off. I entered the building, dragging my suitcase behind me. Walking over to the elevator I pressed the 'up' button, tapping my foot against the tiled floor as I waited. The elevator soon I arrived, and after pressing the '14' button it quickly brought me up to my floor. (A/N I'm kinda imagining that like their dorm is the entire floor so just roll with me on this)
What greeted me when the door opened was unexpected to say the least. I knew teenage/young 20 something guys were messy, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Clothes everywhere, empty takeaway containers scattered across the counters, empty cans built into a pyramid in the corner of the living room area, I couldn't understand how they could stand to live in this mess. I dragged my luggage behind me as I tried my best to avoid the mess on the floor, making my way towards the room with the piece of paper taped to it. Getting closer I realized it had my name written on it. Assuming it was my room, I entered relieved to see that the room was vacant of the mess that covered the rest of the dorm.
The room was relatively empty with a bed located in the center, a dresser pushed up against the left side of the room and the boxes that probably contained the rest of my wardrobe on the right side. I placed my suitcase on the bed and grabbed my toiletry kit and towel before exiting the room again to try and find the bathroom, hoping to freshen up after the long plane ride and before meeting the boys. After finding the bathroom (also a mess) I turned the shower on and quickly stripped and took out my contacts while waiting for the water to heat up before entering the shower. I wasn't planning on it being a long shower but once I got under the water, I just wanted to stay there for the next seven years. After standing there for close to twenty minutes without actually doing anything I rushed to wash my shoulder length silver hair and shave off the leg hair that I had been ignoring for the past two weeks. I finished quickly after that, turning the water off and wrapping my towel around my body.
That's when I heard it. The noises that could only mean the boys had returned to the dorm. Shit, I thought I didn't bring my clothes in here with me cause I thought they would be out later than this. I'm just gonna make a run for my room and hope for the best. I wrapped the towel as tightly as I could and opened the door holding onto the towel for dear life. I had almost made it to my room when one of the boys called out to me from the living room.
"Hello? Are you Nari?" A voice called. "Um, yeah but please don't come this way I just got out of the shower and am only in a towel right now," I called back still making my way towards my room. Almost there, I thought. "Oh..um...alright. See you when you're done getting dressed then." The voice responded followed by laughter from some of the other boys. I entered my room, slamming the door behind me in my haste to get in as quickly as possible. I pulled out a light denim shirt with black jersey sleeves, and a pair of black leggings, quickly pulling them on and running a brush through my messy hair. Not wanting to bother with putting my contacts back in, I just decided to wear my glasses.
I exited my room and made my way out to the living room to meet the guys for the first time. I hope this goes well.
