as the rest of the day went on drew wasn't sure what to say to the quirky brunette with the doe eyes. for some reason he felt almost like it was wrong for him not to tell riley everything about himself. it's like he was hiding his life and he didn't wanna do that. he didn't wanna have secrets, especially from her.in the middle of history class drew decided to grab a small index card and write a little note on it. once he was done he carefully passed it to the girl next to him, hoping nobody noticed.
taking a look at the sloppy handwriting a large smile came onto riley matthews lips. without much of a word she slipped the small note in her binder and continued listening to her dad explain the change in america over the past decade.

sitting on his living room couch, drew started to rethink everything. he wasnt sure what he was doing or what he was going to do next. but once the sound of the doorbell chiming made it to earshot he knew it was to late. his thoughts of backing out was over now.collecting himself, drew pulled open the front door and there stood riley matthews, in all her glory. she was like a ray of sunshine, giving light to everything in its path. and he loved it, her presence was always cheerful which was one of the things drew had admired about her.
"hello?" riley spoke out, causing drew to snap out his daze and quickly invite her inside."your house is really nice" she complimented , taking in the setting. everything in the new home wasn't put away just yet but still the home was beautiful with a fresh paint smell to it.
"thanks.." drew mumbled nervously. "..i'm going to give you a davis house tour now, if that's alright?" once he got riley's nod of approval drew intertwined their fingers, gripping her smaller hand gently in his as he lead her along, stopping at every room in the house.

"and this is my room." drew sustained . a sudden rush of deja vu came over him. "you can take a seat if you like, i'm sorry i don't have one of those awesome bay windows" he joked, earning a laugh from riley matthews.
"it's alright, your room is still fairly cool" she played along.sitting in a still silence, riley knew drew didn't just invite her over for a house tour. she could see that whatever drew seemed to be holding in was eating at him. if this was all to much for him she would respect the fact that he didn't wanna tell her.
"it's fine if you don't wanna ta-"
"my mom died." drew interrupted quickly, causing riley to stop talking and give him a sympathetic look. "i've never met her before. she died giving birth to me.."<*>*<*>

"sometimes i.. i don't know i don't feel like i fit in. i know i'm different but sometimes i don't wanna be different. you know?" riley expressed. it scared herself how fast she was opening up to andrew but it all felt so right.
"riley, you're amazing just the way you are. i've never met somebody so kind and down to earth like you are, don't ever feel like that.. this might sound a little bit cheesy, but you're perfect the way you are, flaws and all."
riley was speechless his sweet words swept her off her feet. she wasted no time pulling andrew into a bone crushing hug, her head rested on his chest and she could hear his steady heartbeat slightly pick up. before andrew could think twice about what he was doing, he wrapped his arms around the matthews girl and planted a sweet kiss on the top of her head.
