I co-wrote a script a few days ago and I wanted to try my hand at another scene. When I started this, I didn't really know where I was going but I hope it turned out okay. Anyways, just a warning, it's very short (only one scene).

Scene 1

Narrator (voiceover): Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lily Rose Goodwin and she was a Wanderer.

*A girl in a hooded black peacoat and knee-high leather boots trudges through a murky forest*

Lily (in a singsong voice): It was many and many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea, that a maiden there lived whom you may know, by the name of Annabel Lee; and this maiden she lived with no other thought, than to love be loved by me . . . *foreshadows with suspenseful music*

Alfred "Alfie": BOO!

(Lily is not startled)

Lily: You don't scare me, little Roamer

*Alfie scowls*

Alfie: I'm no Roamer. Nor am I a Wanderer.

Lily: Oh really . . .

*Dreamily hums the tune of a lullaby*

*Alfie stands tall*

Alfie: I do not belong to any group! Not Wanderer, not Roamer.

*Lily nods slightly and continues walking on*

*Alfie chases after her*

Alfie: Don't you wanna know what I am? Who I have allegiance to?

Lily: No. I shall carry on wandering- no matter the burdens you should heap on me.

*Alfie sneers*

Alfie: You Wanderers. Even worse than Roamers- at least they can talk normally.

Lily: I was a child and she was a child, in this kingdom by the sea, but we loved with a love that was more than love- I and my Annabel Lee- with a love that the winged seraphs . . .

Alfie: Are all Wanderers so hopelessly in love with Annabel Lee?

Lily: No . . . though Poe was quite the inspirational muse.

*Alfie goes back to scowling*

Alfie: Is this it? Will you go on 'til old age, walking through this forest and whispering Annabel Lee?

Lily: No.

Alfie: Then what are you doing, at the end of this path?

Lily: I'm walking.

Alfie (clearly frustrated): Then what, Wanderer? What are you walking to?

Lily: To the sad. To the ones who've lost all hope.

Alfie (snarling): And what are you going to do then? Laugh?

*Lily smiles dreamily*

Lily: No, little boy. I will not laugh at them, though perhaps I will smile. No, I will do the thing I was born to do.

Alfie: Talk in long sentences without ever really getting to the point?

Lily: I'll help.

^End of scene 1^

Annabel Lee is by Edgar Allan Poe and after reading Lady Midnight, I was also in an Annabel Lee mood :)
