Dear Diary,

I woke up to all of the adults inside the RV having a conversation. I saw Alex outside with me. I yawned. He looked at me with a dreamy smile. I opened the car door and got out quickly. We looked at each other. He greeted me with a good morning.

We were relaxing by ourselves while the adults had their usual morning conversation. He began teasing me. I was blushing a very bright, tomato, red. He could tell I liked him. He walked in front of me and grabbed both of my hands. He began coming closer to me. Our faces were only centimeters apart when we heard zombies. Lots of them.

There was no time for us to hide under a car. We had to move. We grabbed knives, swords, and silenced guns. I picked up my old backpack. I began running for my life while Alex was holding my hand tightly so I could keep up. We turned around to see where they were. They were inside the RV. Some outside. We could see bloody windows. It was a horrific scene. And to think, my mother was one of the people in that very RV probably being torn to shreds by walkers.
I began to cry. Alex hugged me a little and gave me a kiss on the forehead. I could only manage to let out a slight smile.

"We have to hurry before they see us. We need to find a safe shelter. C'mon!"

I could hear his echoing voice. I began feeling like I was going to pass out. First my dad, now my mom?! Why me?? Whyyy?!

I got up and ran to his pace. We soon found a department store. We cleared the walkers out and put barriers up. There was enough supplies for us to survive for a few days. Maybe a week. Who knows. And to think, we are two 12 year old kids surviving on our own. I really guess those post-apocalyptic movies paid off.

Anyways, it's starting to get dark. I should get some rest. I think I need it.

Love,
Elianna
