The Maybelline Girl

                                  The next morning, the four started their trip to Goa. It was a fun-filled ride. Radhika was singing in her annoying voice, Neil was dancing to her song whilst sitting in his seat, Samaira was laughing at their childishness while Arjun was getting irritated. "I brought her here to spend time with her, get to know her and get her into my hands but then now these two clowns had to tag along with her", thought Arjun. But he secretly watched Samaira as she laughed. She had a beautiful laugh. But Arjun brushed these thoughts away as he thought of his revenge. He was brought back to reality as Radhika touched a very high note in her annoying voice. He snapped, "Oh shut up !!! Stop singing. Your voice is even more horrible than a donkey's bleat !!!!" Radhika stopped singing and looked at Arjun angrily. Samaira looked at Arjun in a half-amused, half-angry expression while Neil burst out laughing heartily at Arjun's remark. Radhika folded her arms across her chest and looked out of the window, "Hmph !!!!" They drove to the resort where they were going to stay. They got their rooms and went to freshen up as they were going to look out for places for photoshoot.  While at breakfast, Samaira was sitting munching her waffles, Arjun joined her looking at her as she happily munched her waffles. A smile spread across his face unknowingly. Samaira watched him as if he had come to take her waffles away and asked, "What.. Why are you looking at me like that ?" Arjun replied," Nothing. I was just figuring out the angles for the photoshoot." Samaira nodded her head and felt something rub her legs. Something flurry. She looked down and saw a big fur of white. She exclaimed, "Bonzo !!!" Yes. It was indeed Bonzo who was rubbing against Samaira's legs. She looked up at Arjun with an unbelievable sort of expression. Arjun meaningfully smiled back at her. Samaira bent down and started curdling Bonzo behind the ears and telling, "Bonzo Bon.. My cutie pie. I missed you a lot." Bonzo on the other hand wagged his tail and licked Samaira all over until she fell back on the grassy ground and Bonzo got over her and started licking her. Samaira laughed as the dog's fur tickled her but she didn't care. She laughed out loud and happy. Arjun stared at the beauty on the ground as she laughed happily. Her laughter was mesmerising. Apparently, she was getting out of breath so Arjun shouted, "Bonzo !! Here Boy !!" Bonzo heard Arjun's words and got off Samaira. Arjun gave him a treat and Bonzo ran away. He turned back to Samaira who was now panting for breath. Her chest was heaving as she tried to gulp in large amount air. He looked at the girl on the ground and smiled. Then all of a sudden, his smile vanished and it was replaced with a frown. He was here for revenge and not to fall in love with someone. Especially not with the enemy.

                                         He lent her his hand to help her up. She graciously accepted it. They were joined by Neil and Radhika. Neil had news with him. Apparently he had found the perfect place for the photoshoot and Radhika had come up with perfect write-ups for the photoshoot. Neil plopped himself next to Samaira rather ungracefully which made her drop her waffles on the ground. She gave him a mock-angry glare and started hitting him with the spoon, " You IDIOT !!! Can't you see ???!!! You made me drop my waffle on the ground and to say that THAT waffle was dipped in honey and syrup.. And what an animalistic way to put your big fat body on the chair !!!!" Neil was trying in vain to shield himself from Sam's 'Spoon-Attacks' but defended himself when she said 'Big Fat Body', "Hey !! I am NOT fat !!!" And then continued to shield himself once again as this time she had taken a knife for help too. It was such a comical scene that Radhika was aldready laughing holding her stomach and Arjun burst out laughing too. Hearing this, Neil and Sam looked up to see Arjun laughing. Even Radhika had stopped laughing and was looking at him. Arjun never laughed. To even see a smile on his face was rare. But here he was, laughing his heart out. Arjun noticed them staring at him and asked, "What !! Why are you staring at me like that ?" Samaira said, "No.. You are laughing out loud. You never laugh.. So this came as a surprise." Arjun's smile faltered. True.. He had never laughed out loud like he just had.. It had been many years. Truth to be told, he felt light and good.. Before he could ponder over anything else, Radhika said, "I think we should move over to the photoshoot spot. And I think Sam should get ready." Arjun looked at Radhika. She had successfully diverted the topic. Arjun said, "I agree with Radhika. Sam, you should get ready. And Neil.. Let's go. Its your job to direct the cameraman." The four went on their respective jobs.

                The studio was set up and Neil was applying a last layer of makeup to his favourite girl while Samaira smiled at him. She adored him and it was vice-versa. Neil brushed away the last sprinkles of uneven blush and smiled with satisfaction.

Neil : Aah !!!! And now I present to you "The mesmerising Maybelline Girl"

Samaira laughed and hit him on the arm. He gave her a look of mock hurt but she just stuck her tongue out at him. The music of the DJ was heard and Neil gave her his arm which she took gracefully and they both walked out where Arjun had already started talking about his new project for Maybelline and what he wanted to spread through the particular project. He turned his head towards Samaira and stopped mid-sentence. She looked so gorgeous in her black-striped silver v-shaped dress. Her eyes shone with joy and mischief and her smile spoke radiance. He broke the grace and turned towards the audience.

Arjun : Hello fellow friends. As you know, Bird Song believes in approaching everything with an emphasis on a message - be it social, encouraging or anything. Now, presenting to you, The Maybelline Girl - Samaira Khanna.

There were loud cheers from the onlookers as Samaira had to walk to the stage. She looked at Arjun holding his hand out towards her and then at Neil who was smiling at her encouragingly to go ahead. With a smile at her best friend, she held her head high and walked on to the stage taking Arjun's hand. 

Arjun  : The lovely lady sharing space with me on the stage depicts beautiful, brave, charming and kind. It doesn't mean wearing makeup needs to depict only beauty. It can also depict confidence. For now, enjoy the show.

There were claps from the audience. He let go off her hand and went to the cameraman to talk about what angles he need to focus. Neil was already ready with his camera. He was bubbling with joy.. His best friend was walking the ramp. Radhika was making the final changes to the taglines that were to be displayed as Samaira walked the ramp. Arjun signalled for the music to start. The music started and it was time for Samaira to express herself to the world.
