"Whoa! What a mess!" I hear someone exclaim near me. I rolled to my side and covered my face with my hand. Then I felt someone shaking my shoulder.

I shrugged the hand away but now it was whispering indecipherable words in my ear. "Go away Alana!!"

"Get up, they're cleaning up in here. They're gonna make us clean their house if we stay any longer." the voice explained and the shaking stopped.

I shot up from what I presume is the floor. I opened my eyes to the glaring sun from a huge rectangular window with no blinds. I'm pretty sure Alana purchased some blinds for our apartment.

I looked around me and saw new, unfamiliar furniture and the faint smell of alcohol and disinfectant. I tried to stand up but I saw a girl sleeping on my ankles. It is beyond me how she fell asleep on my bony ankles. I shake her head off and it fell gently on the floor.

I got up and stretched and heard voices on the room to my right. The voices were kind of familiar and I was about to approach the oncoming voices when I heard the front door open and saw a few people sneaking out without their shirts or their shoes on. Then I remembered what the voice said to me a while ago while I was in a trance.

I've been here before and it is not fun. I dashed out of that house as quickly as I could and walked to my apartment down below.

I remember everything now. Alana coerced me into attending our new neighbors' party and well, everything went black. Somebody accidentally elbowed me in the head, knocking me out. I guess I didn't blacked out from all the alcohol.

I walked to our door and grabbed the knob but it wouldn't open. Suddenly, I wide awake and I'm now patting and searching my pants pockets and my jacket. Great. I left my key inside and it seems Alana isn't home yet. I groaned and slid down on my back, leaning on the door.

I put my hands in my face and yawned. So far, nothing good has been happening in my life. My life might as well be turned into a book and have it titled as 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'. Only someone beat me to it. God, I guess this is the karma I get from all the horrible things I have done in my life. But why come sooner? There are more horrible things I could do in the future.

I looked at my wrist and saw that it was only just 8 in the morning. I groaned and punched the carpeted floor. This is not how I plan on spending my Saturday.

Suddenly, a pair of tattered running shoes were now standing in front of me. I glanced up and saw a brunette boy around 9 or 10 with a cute little yellow labrador on his arms. He was smiling at me and the labrador was squirming in his arms.

"Excuse me, lady. Are you alright?"

The boy looked like he was about to go to Sunday school. Adorable.

I nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I'm alright. Are you from this floor?"

The boy shook his head, "No. I was just walking Stephen here and I saw you sitting outside your door."

Wow, this boy is polite. If my mother was here I bet she'd be telling me that I could learn a lot from him.

"It's so nice of you to check on me. Where do you live?" The moment I let out those words, I felt my cheeks heat up. I'm not supposed to ask young little boys where they lived. I was asking out of curiosity and nothing more.

"Oh I don't live here but my cousin does. He's moving in here and he wants me to see it. I'm not sure which apartment, though." he replied as he looked around. No wonder I have no idea who this boy is. He doesn't even live here.

"Your cousin just moved here?" I asked him as I got up from the floor. When I stood up the boy's height was just under my armpit.

He nodded and put the labrador down and the dog started yapping.
