(Illumi) Hunter x Hunter

"YOU IDOIT! WHY, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? HUH, WAS IT TO PROVE SOMETHING? OR ARE YOU JUST THAT STUPID?" (Y/N) was yelling at him. Illumi had really pushed it this time. He had gone and tried to murder an entire village after they insulted his family. He gritted his teeth as (Y/N) put some iodine on his cuts that he got when the village leaders attacked him. "They insulted my family! They deserved every last death!" (Y/N) slapped him. "That's not true. Take that back." she said, venom in every word. Illumi hissed at her. 

"Why are you even helping me? You literally just met me an hour ago." he asked. She sighed. "Look, I can't just leave you here! That would be like sending a lamb to the slaughter!" He raised his eyebrow. "Why am I a lamb?" he asked. She froze. "I dunno, actually. Huh, you just seem so, pale." He facepalmed. "HOW DOES THAT MAKE ME A LAMB?" He yelled. She felt her blood rise. "WELL, HOW DOES YOU BEING AN ASSASSIN MAKE IT OKAY TO KILL HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE?!" She yelled back. Illumi glared at her and (Y/N) glared just as hatefully back. 

When he had healed a little, (Y/N) decided that they should start moving. The village leaders would be on their way by now she reasoned and Illumi finally agreed that it would probably be for the best that they made their way into a safer village that would be able to protect them. At least until they caught wind of what Illumi had done. (Y/N) and Illumi moved along to a village that seemed to be safe. Until they went into a bar.

There, on the wanted poster was (Y/N). Illumi glanced at her as she froze and silently cursed under her breathe. He took off his cloak which he had used to hide his identity from the villagers he had killed and put it on her. She gave him a small smile of gratitude and rapped the cloth around her body and, most importantly, her face. Illumi read the poster. "Wanted: (Y/N) (Y/L/N) for"- his eyes widened and he burst out laughing.

(Y/N) felt her cheeks flush and stomped on his toe. "Shut up, I was going through a phase!" she whispered angrily. He stifled his laughter a bit, just for her sake. After all, he couldn't blame her. Stealing penguins from the royal family had been on his bucket list and he was sort of jealous that she got to steal them before him. 

All of a sudden, a man burst through the doors of the bar and when he saw Illumi, started attacking him. (Y/N) and Illumi ran out of the bar, dodging the intruder's attacks. They went on to the next village and soon there would be a cycle that they only escaped through time.

It had been three years and the villagers hadn't let up. Illumi and (Y/N) had some time to bond, and bond they did. They had talked with each other and knew the other's deepest and darkest secrets. Illumi and (Y/N) couldn't help their feelings, but they were way too shy. Well, Illumi just didn't want to admit to himself that he liked someone in the first place. This all came to a halt on a bridge, where (Y/N) and Illumi had stopped to take a breather. They had been running away from the villagers for five days straight and this was their only brake. 

Illumi had a question that he was dying to ask and since this looked like the only break they would have for a while, he decided that this was the perfect time to ask (Y/N). "Hey, (Y/N). Why are you staying and running with me? I mean, you could've left at any time during the past three years yet you didn't. So why?" he asked.

(Y/N) gulped. 'Now or never I guess...' she thought. "Um, well you see, I uh... I just felt like it was right because I....ENJOY RUNNING!?!" she blurted out. Illumi raised his eyebrow. "N-No, that's not it. It's because I l-like uh.... LIMULI!" she yelled. He just grew more confused. "What the heck is Limuli?" (Y/N) facepalmed. "AH! WHY IS IT SO HARD TO SAY THAT I LIKE YOU!" she screamed. 

For a few seconds, both were silent. (Y/N) basically had turned to stone and Illumi was just standing there. "Well of course you like me, I like you too! I mean, aren't we friends?" Illumi said blankly, DEFINITELY NOT GETTING WHAT (Y/N) MEANT. "No you idiot! I mean like as in uh like like." she said. He just stood there, not understanding. "AH! I MEAN LOVE LIKE!" she yelled at him. He froze. His face was void of any emotion. (Y/N) waited. And waited. And waited. She couldn't take it anymore. "Haha, uh, GOTCHA!...?" she shouted uncertainly. He sighed and mumbled something that she couldn't hear. "What?" she asked. He mumbled again this time louder. "I like you too..." he said quietly. (Y/N)'s eyes widened and she smiled a little. "Thanks." she said. Illumi looked at her and then shook his head.

"I don't think you understand. I don't just like you, I'm in love with you. I love the way you laugh and the way your ears redden when you get angry and how your face turns completely red when you're embarrassed. I love how you tie your hair up into a ponytail when you prepare for a fight. How you smile when you feel proud of yourself. How you-" he was cut off by (Y/N)'s lips meeting his. He smiled into the kiss and both felt like puddy in the other's arms. (Yes even Illumi >v<). After a little bit, Illumi pulled away and touched his forehead to hers. Both just looked at each other, still entranced by the kiss and they stood there until one of the village leaders found them. As they ran, (Y/N) thought 'Best break EVER.'

Epilogue:

(Y/N) and Illumi only had one child. Her name was Limuli. It seemed only fitting for her as her hair was as dark as the back of a horseshoe crab. Limuli grew to be talented and was able to inherit the skills of a true assassin. (Y/N) and Illumi grew old until (Y/N) died of a terrible sickness. Some say if you go to Antarctica, you can see a penguin with a dark cloak on, tied with a single yellow pin.
