"Jason stop teasing Elizabeth." Said Mary. "Do you want to go live with your dad?"
Jason looked up, shocked that she would say such a thing.
"What no I don't want to live with Daddy, he can be mean."
He looks off in the distance as if recalling the bad memories of his parents fighting for the past few months.
"Don't hate your dad just because we didn't love each other. It's not his fault the spark has gone."
Mary could tell that Jason and Elizabeth loved there father deep down they just refuse to accept that because they believe that he is the reason that she got divorced.
"Eat your breakfast then I can take you and your sisters to school." Said Mary
They eat fast and got in the car ready for school.Mary puts Penny in her car seat. She's finally not crying, and Elizabeth and Jason get in the car ready to start the second week of second grade at their new school. They had to switch schools once their parents got divorced and they move to a town and started going to a new school. They didn't like it but they were happier than when their parents were married. Mary had been going crazy trying to get unpacked and get the kids situated in the new town, AND on top of that she still had to get a job, maybe she would start her own business. But all was good at least they all thought so. None of them had any clue what this town would bring to their family.
"Mommy I don't want to go to school. All the kids make fun of us, and the girls call me poppy pants because in art one of the girls spilled brown paint on a chair and I accidentally sat on it." Elizabeth practically screamed on their way to the front door of the school building. "Jason hates it too don't you Jason?" He just looked at the sky, he hated to be in the middle of discussions with his mom and sister. "Well I have finally made s okay me new friends but I think they are okay only friends with me because they feel sorry for me. But it's lanky they seem to be coming around to getting to know the real me."
Elizabeth stands shocked how did Jason get friends before she did. Everyone always liked her more than Jason, she was not used to be just by the last of the two to make friends. "Mommy will you talk to the principle and my teacher and tell them that just am getting I am getting bullied?" Elizabeth finally said after some silence. "I will try but they might not trust me we are so new to the town and everyone knows each other but I will do it for you" said Mary.
At that moment she realized that moving to this town was going to be harder than she ever knew."Have a good day at school, I love you!" Mary says as she kisses both of them on the head as they start walking into their classroom. She walks down the hall trying to get to the principals office. Finally she gave up of wandering around and decided to asked one of the parents were it was. "Excuse me." She said to a mother who just said goodbye to her kid. "Do you know where the principals office is? Sorry I'm new to the town." The other girl looked annoyed but answered my question, "It's down the hall to the left." "Thanks!"
I finally get to the door and I see someone that I suddenly seen in ten years. My ex-husband Richard. I see him and duck into the bathroom. The kids don't know about him and he is the reason that my last marriage fell apart. WHAT WAS HE DOING HERE!?!?! I am being stupid he is probably a father and his kids goes here. I step out and see him kissing the principal, I don't know what to do.
