Uglies Fanfic: Transformation
-------------------Chapter One----------------------
The setting sun meant bedtime is soon to the uglies but to pretties it meant many more hours of partying and would be later in the morning when the Uglies would rise out of slumber and count the days until they too could party all afternoon and night. I turned around from the lake that separated us from them. Like that would stop us from sneaking over.
The leaves crunched underneath my step and I crossed my arms and walked back to my cabin. When i walked in, my best friend Blair was there on her bed, playing with the screen version of her face. Her face was long and fine, her skin a even tan. Her almond shaped eyes were the only thing the same on this face. Her short brown hair was longer than mine on the skin and everything perfectly proportioned. She heard the door open and said without looking at me, "Wrennie-tennie! Wanna make your prettie face?" I shake my head and sit on the edge of my bed. Blair's sixteenth birthday is two days before mine, a little more than a week from now, and her and I were gonna live together with Legen, our other friend, living near by. "C'mon! Don't you wanna think about what you'd look like?"
I wave her off, "Not now. We have to tell the others there story." We walk out to a camp fire pit with a bunch of younger uglies sit on logs. We see Legen sitting with Carey, a soon to be pretty like him.
When we get close he gets up and smiles. "I thought you weren't gonna make it! We still on for after hours?"
Me and Blair smirk. She's the one to answer him, "Of course. You're about to become prettie on us, you have to watch them in their habitat." We all laugh and sit together on a log, Blair and Legen on the ends, me in the middle. We sit and listen to them tell the tales of a world not like this and tales of uglies that never become pretties and live in the woods. Legen and Blair laugh along and smile at them. The night comes and bed time is called. Me and Blair get in our sleeping clothes and pretend to be asleep when we get checked. She 'wakes' me up and we get into black outfits and grab two masks. We sneak out and run to our meeting place with Legen. He sat on a stump and picked at a dead leaf.
"Hey Wrennie Tennie and Blair Airie." He laughed and gave us our hoverboards. We would ride into the edge of the city and would walk the rest of the way. We put in our belly rings and got on, the wind brushing past us. Legen and Blair rode in front of me. We saw the lights and got off and put on our masks. We wore pig masked and knew if someone saw us, the insult would be called and we'd have to come back. We walked and signalled each other when we could go. Legen didn't really need a mask. If he was only a little taller, wore different clothes and cut his hair he would be a prettie. Me and Blair would talk about him but she wouldn't kiss him and neither would I. We were still in the woods and soon could hear the fireworks. Not many Pretties are on the streets and are at the party held at a mansion some where. I stayed behind Legen and Blair was behind me. We ran down a hill and into a dark park. As the hours passed, we walked around the town and talked to Legen and who would he be moving with. "Me and Michale are gonna be living together he's just a day before me. And the promise still stands, honeys, I will be the one to great you all. I think it would be fun to visit that dump again and sneak around in the woods."
I laughed. Blair just stayed quiet, which is very unlikely. "Do you guys believe in the stories of the uglies living in the woods?"
"I guess. Its believable." I said and Legen nodded. We were now by the party and we crawled into it.

"Hey! Look at the little piggies!" Some really drunk pretties called behind us.
"Shit." Legen said under his breath. We all ran and heard them stumbling drunkly behind us. We were near a jumping platform. You put a harness and would jump and it would catch you only a few feet below. "C'mon! We gotta get to the jumping platform!"
We soon are there and we jumped. The wind rushed past me howling in my ears. All i remember is blackness after that.
