Chapter 1
She walked into the building to size up the stage she was to be working with for the next few days. Travelling for work was hard, but in the end, it was worth the money, and the full body workout she got every day.
Her heels slicked along the dark floors as she walked further into the building. She looked around in awe at the stage before her. The rest of the room was in dim lighting, but the stage seemed to shine. It was raised four feet, the wooden floor shone as the various light from above reflected off of them. The various mirrors that were positioned behind the stage just made herself stare in awe even more. Looking around, she found the camoflauged steps and started to climb them. Slowly, as if the stage were to be crushed by her petite weight, she stepped up, and walked to the pole in the center. Pushing all other thoughts aside, she started to do parts of her routine, at if she was snapping her fingers.
A few minutes later, barely out of breathe she slid down the pole, legs out stretched, she sat on her butt.
“That was amazing!” squealed a voice from the edge of the stage.
“Thanks. It was nothing really. Just a test on this week’s work” she gasped as she asserted herself and sat on the edge as she stretched out her hand, “I’m Des. I guess we’ll be partners this week eh?” introducing herself to the young looking girl in front of her.
“Hi Des, it’s nice to finally meet you!” she blushed with happiness as she shook Des’ hand, “But I’m not a dancer, I’m actually owner of this place” she finished as she moved her hands around as if to show off what she’s got.
Des raised her eye brows as she took another look around. Upon further inspection she was impressed with what she saw. The floor wasn’t black, but instead it was a bright burgundy red. The walls where plain with signed pictures of other dancers and celebrities that have graced the lounge; each table was respectably spaced around the floor. The bar is what caught Des’ attention almost as much as the stage did. The bar itself was on its own stage, but instead it was on motors that rotated on the spot. She was able to clearing see the four work stations that were built into this massive stage. Noting that she had to see this stage in action, Des turned her attention back to the girl in from of her.
“You look kind of young to be in charge here” she voiced her thoughts as she tilted her head slightly to the side, re-evaluating her boss for the next week.
“I get that a lot actually. But little does everyone know, I have three kids and my oldest is about to turn twenty one. Crazy eh?” she responded in a chipper voice as she motioned for Des to follow her to the bar. “What’s your poison?” she asked as she beckoned Des to take a seat.
“I don’t like to drink on the days I work. It ruins my concentration. But can I have a club soda please?”
“Sure” she responded as she poured the drink for Des and a shop for herself.
“So, what’s your name?” asked Des as she sipped on her soda and watched the woman behind the bar.
“Sarah. Or you can just call me Little Mama” she winked as she continued on getting things ready.
“Sarah, I like that” mused Des, “So, what’s the cliental here like?” she inquired as she took another look around the lounge and half watched the others start their preparations before opening time.
