Maya Ft. Owen

You're Going to Miss This: Trace Adkins

Maya groaned as her mother pulled up to Degrassi, looking out the window trying to see if she could see Tristan anywhere.

"I can't wait till I'm 18; I'll make my own money I'll make my own rules." She told her mom as her phone buzzed telling her she had a text.

"I was just like you, but Maya you're going to miss this one day. Believe me it seems like yesterday I was a freshman in High School now Katie is graduating and you're a freshman, you're going to want these days back baby and you're going to wish these days hadn't gone by so fast. High school is the best time of your life May take a look around cause one day sweetie you're going to miss this." Her mother told her with a kiss of Maya's head. Maya gave her mom a smile as she got out of the car and walked to where Cam, Tori, Tristan and Zig stood smiling. Her mom was right in a sense but she was also dead wrong, high school was some of the worst times of her life after Cam killed himself nothing was the same. Paris was a highlight of her life watching Tristan fall in love with Miles was amazing. Then Adam died and she felt her heart break again for her friend and band mate. Her last two years of Degrassi C.S were relatively quiet and before she knew it High School was over and Simpson was handing her a diploma. College flew by and before Maya even realized Tristan was getting married to Miles and at the wedding who was the one to catch the bouquet you ask? None other than Maya herself and as she blushed and turned around she almost fell on top of someone looking up she recognized the blue eyes of Tristan's older brother, Owen. As the two talked he apologized to her about how he acted in highschool and they figured out that they had so much in common, like music, a hatred of West Drive (especially Zoe Rivara), and their love and protectiveness for Tristan. Before the two knew it they had been dating for two years and Owen popped the question before she knew it time had done it again and she and Owen were newly married and living in an a one bedroom apartment close to the school that Owen taught at. Maya was finishing painting when her dad showed up.

"Hey Daddy." Maya greeted him with a hug.

"Hey May. I like what you've done with the place it looks a lot better than when you and Owen moved in." Mr. Matlin told his daughter with a smile. Maya smiled up at her dad and shrugged.

"It'll do for now we're saving up for a house though. One with a big yard so when we have kids they can play in." She told him, excitement clearly showing through her voice.

"Baby just slow down because you're going to miss this just the two of you. These are some good times you don't know this now but you're going to miss this." He told her with a hug. Maya didn't realize how much she was going to miss just the two of them around until Little Cameron Adam was born. Once little Cam was born came the twins Alexander Tristan and Amelia Bianca and the one bedroom apartment was two small for the five of them and Maya got her wish she had a big house and yard for the three of the kids to play in. Five years after her father's visit to her one bedroom apartment the hot water heater was broken and she called a plumber he arrived right before the twin's nap time Amelia was crying, Alex was screaming and Cam was chasing the dog around the kitchen. She kept apologizing to the plumber but he just smiled and said that the didn't bother him he had two babies of his own one is 36 and the other was 23, it's hard to believe miss but you're going to miss the crying and screaming once there grown up. Maya smiled at the older man and replied,

"I already miss this."
