Chapter 2

Justin's P.O.V

"Meet some of my friends Layla and Tanner" Ariana said pointing at her friends. I waved at them and we all sit together. The teacher walked in and greeted us, "Hello class today we have a new student! Justin Drew Bieber!" I smiled and waved at everyone.

Mrs.Johnson smiles, "why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself?" about myself? What am I supposed to say? Im afraid of sharks?

I scratched the back of my head, "Uhh.. I like writing songs and playing the drums"

"Really! I love to write songs!" Ariana whispers to me. I smirk, "Maybe we can write together sometime."

"That would be cool!" She whispered smiling.

A big smile appeared on my face, maybe she'll fall in love with me. The day goes by pretty fast it's already the last class of the day.

"Alright students there's a big project due next month, you guys will be paired up with someone else." Mr.Ruiz says. Everyone cheered

"You didn't let me finish.. you will not be choosing your partners.. I will." he said laughing. Everyone sighed.

"Hope we get paired up" A boy tells Ariana smirking. That got me pissed off. Ariana giggles and blushes like fire. I wanted to ask her who that stupid boy was but I'm too shy, and that sounds rude but who cares.

"Who's he?" I managed to ask. crap. I shouldn't have said anything.

"Oh that's jai he's like my best friend besides tanner" Oh thank god, I thought they were dating. Mr.Ruiz is choosing everyone's partners and Jai wasn't paired with Ariana luckily.

"Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber" Mr.Ruiz said pulling out two pieces of papers with our names on them.

Ariana turns around and smiles at me. Her smile is so beautiful I could stare at it all day. Finally it's the last class of the day.

The bell rang and i caught up to Ariana.

"So you wanna work at my place?" I asked shoving my hands in my pockets.

"Ya.. my house wouldn't be a good place to work at" She said twirling her hair. I didn't bother to ask why cause I feel like it would sound rude. So I let it slide. We walked to my car and hopped in.

"Nice car I'm not allowed to buy a car cause my parents think ill 'leave them' " she says.

"That's stupid your going to college next year of course you'll leave them anyway.. wait are you going to college?" I asked. She sighs and looks down, "I'd love to go but my parents.. never mind."

"No, you can tell me any-"

She yells, "Just forget it! ok?" We sat in silence for the whole car ride till we finally got to my house. I opened the door for her and closed it, "I'm really sorry for asking that question." She turned around and half-smiles, "It's fine". We walked inside the house and immediately my mom comes running up to us.

"My little baby boy is finally home how was your first day? Tell me everything!" Mom says jumping up and down. She freezes when she sees Ariana.

She smiles, "did you get a girlfriend on your first day already!"

Ariana laughs and says, "No no! we're just friends, we crashed into each other and I showed him around. And we got paired up for a project."

"Oh! I'm sorry! Thank you for showing my little boy around, I'm Pattie Mallette by the way." Mom says shaking her hand.

"I'm Ariana grande nice to meet you!"

"Me and Ariana are gonna go work on our project now bye mom!" I say grabbing her wrist and dragging her upstairs.

"I like your mom she's cool. Where's your dad?" Ariana asked while sitting on my bed. My dad.. Why did she have to bring up my dad.. Ariana sees my facial expression and asks, "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing just my dad doesn't live with us. Him and mom got divorced. But we talk and all and he has 2 other kids, Jazmyn and Jaxon." I say.

"Oh gosh! that's great that you guys talk though!" She says.

"Now that I told you about my parents it's your turn to tell me about yours" I said shoving my hands in my pockets again.

Ariana's P.O.V

He asked about my parents. My parents! I hate talking about my parents. No one really knows the truth about my parents but me. Not even my best friends Layla, Tanner, and Jai know. Can I trust him enough to tell him the truth? I JUST MET HIM! TODAY! But he's so sweet and... cute.

"Hello? earth to Ariana?" He said waving his hand in my face. I smiled and look into his kind brown eyes.

"If I tell you the truth will you promise not to tell anybody?"

He sticks out his pinky, "I pinky promise." I smiled and locked our pinkies together.

**Quick A/N: this hasn't happened to Ariana in real life it's just in my story okie?(:**

I sighed, "Alright, when I was 6 my parents got divorced. there was too much fighting going on. but then they got re-married and they fight all the time again. they honestly don't care what I do. except for one thing.. they don't want me to go to collage and my dad hits me when I talk about collage or moving away. so I lock myself in my room and write music to avoid them."

He stares at me with his brown eyes that show love and affection and whispers, "I'm sorry Ariana."

"Why are you sorry?" I asked arching an eyebrow.

"Because of what your dad does that isn't fair you should be able to make your own decisions" He said. I smiled, "Ya I wish I could." We stared at each others eyes for a while and suddenly I leaned in closer to him.

"Hey kids how's the project go-" Justin's mom bursts in with a bowl of chips and freezes, almost dropping the chips. I quickly stand up and grab my bag walking out the door. I promised myself I wouldn't fall in love with anyone else but I think I'm starting to like someone.
