The alarm went off, I hit the snooze button and started slowly crawling out of bed. I got dressed in a white shirt with a black heart on it, a black skirt, a light white coat, and my favorite pair of black heels. I walked down the stairs and grabbed my breakfast. I finished my small breakfast and took a bottle of water and an apple, I put the water in my purse and walked out the door for the first day of the second semester of my junior year. Sure it a lot of work, but with all my friends and I working together on the work, it's not so stressful. I'm pretty popular in school, I maintain my A/B honor roll, so life's pretty sweet, I got through the first half of the school year, now I just have to survive the second half.
I'm halfway to the school when I hear someone yelling my name "Hey Sarah!" I turned to see my best friends Alex and Tetra, I've known them since grade school, we walked down to the school talking. Nothing big just what we did over the break, Tetra and I had the first same first period math class together. We said bye to Alex till lunch and walked into Mr. Kling's classroom, not much is known about Mr. Kling's. The only things we know about him is that he was a tall man with short black hair and he always wore a suit to school.
He took roll call and passed out today's math packet, the important thing to know about Mr. Kling's usual thing to do in class is to take roll, had out these huge packets for us to do, and just walks back to his computer drinking his coffee. Other than that not much is known about his life outside the school. As for the packets he passes out, they were thick packets, like a total of 52 pages at max. He gave us a week and a half to finish these things before they're due for a grade, he gave us test and quizzes from time to time too, just about half the pages from the packet. They're not even new question, he just moves around the problems, so most of my classmates just try to memorize the answers and usually get around a 75%.
What also happens in this class is since I've got a perfect 100% in this class, the other students move their desk around mine so I could help them and guide them through it, at this point in the year is the time when Mr. Kling's just stops trying to teach us the conventional way. Not that he ever gave it any effort to begin with, to be honest the man only is really getting paid just to sit there and do nothing. A few of my classmates and I have considered reporting him to the principal, but then we decide not to so we can keep our free period in the morning.
So my own personal little class and I start off the packet by talking about multiplying exponents and using graphs to solve problems. When the bell rang for us to go to your next period we packed up and some of the other students hand me some money for helping them out. Don't get it wrong I don't charge for my tutoring sections, but some of the other students give me 5 dollars max for helping them out. I'm just happy they can come to me and ask for help, but the money is good to. I just put it in my account later when my parents and I go to the back once a week.
So the day was kind of long, but nothing I didn't already know, sure it was tough getting back into my old rhythm, but I think I'm getting used to it again. Next few periods went like this, art for 2nd period, graphic design for 3rd, lunch in the afternoon where my friends and I eat, talk and hangout, and then to world geo for my last period. Our teacher understood to take t easy, so we watched a video, answered some questions about the video, and just rest for the rest of the time. I took a quick nap till I heard the bell ring, I packed up my things, walked out the classroom and waited for Alex and Tetra at the front of the school.
I walked to the usual spot where we met up, then I felt something bump me on the shoulder which made me drop my notebook and some of my books. I bent down to get them when I noticed someone else's did the same. It was a boy I didn't recognize, he said "I'm so sorry about this" as he and I started to pick up my books. He handed me 2 of the books I had dropped and I said " It's no problem" I got a better look at him and saw that he was about my height, but I think he had about half an inch on me. He wore jeans, a white shirt, and a jeans jacket, his eyes were blue and his hair was a blonde color. He held out his hand and said "Hi, my names Leon" I shook his hand and said "Hey, I'm Sarah" he started to walk away when he said "Maybe I'll see you around" then I replied "Maybe you will" he walked off down the street and that's the last time I saw him for that day.
My friends and I walked over to my house and started to do our homework. I walked into the kitchen to grab us some snacks, when I saw a note from my parents on the table. I picked it up and read it "Sarah, your mother and I are going to be stuck at the office till 10:00 P.M." This stuff usually happens, my parents work late hours and leave early mornings. I kept reading it " You know the rules don't stay up too late, get your homework done, and no boys allowed when we're not around" I put the note down to grab some fruit and chips for the study section. I reread the note and saw a little thing near the bottom of the not "P.S. I'm expecting a call from our agents in the office who has something to tell us. Write down the information he gives you and set it down somewhere we will see it"
So my friends and I are doing our homework when the phone starts to go off, I put down my pad and pencil and answer the phone "Hello?" I asked, but nothing happened, no sound, no one answered the answered, so I hung up and started to continue my homework. This went on for a while, the phone would go off, but no one would answer, now my friends and I were just hanging out a bit since we got done with our homework. We were watching some TV show when the phone went off again. I have had enough of this, so when I picked up the phone I said "Look, this is the 20th time you've called this number and said nothing!" I kept on ranting with my friends watching in the background " If this is some stupid prank call than its becoming old fast, so stop calling here or I'll call the police!" I slammed the phone down and sat back on the couch. The phone went off again, so I picked up the phone and said "What!?" the man answered "Hello this is Patrick Kern. I work with your dad at the office" I kind of felt embarrassed, so I apologized and explained what had been happening. He replied to that with "It's no problem, I totally understand, now I have some information for your parents..." he told me the information my parents needed and then hung up the phone after he made sure I had it all correctly.
I told my friends that it was someone who needed to tell my parents something about a person's account acting strange. So now we continue to watch TV for a bit before we just talked over it, the phone rang again and at first I thought it was that Patrick guy who left out some details on the case. When I picked up the phone I said calmly "Hello, is this Patrick Kern?" There was no sound except the sound of someone breathing. I started to think it was the person or people who kept on calling and saying nothing again, I was about to go off on them when a voice said "Who is this?" I didn't want to give them my real name. I turned to my friends and said "I think it's the people who keep calling here" they sat there saying nothing, probably a little scared that someone we don't know is calling us. I answered "This is Hera Thern" the voice on the other end said "Really, are you sure it's not Sarah Wilton?" I stood there in shock, how did he know my name?
He kept talking, he said my address, my name, then a chill ran down my spine. I hung up the phone quickly, slammed it down and backed off into the couch. My friends asked what happened, I told them everything and they looked terrified. I picked up the phone and called the police, about 20 mins later they came, one officer asked what happened, I told him everything that happened. I showed him the number of the person who called me, he wrote it down from the history of the phone, he then said "Ok well trace it and find the man who called you" then he asked "Where are your parents?" I told him they wouldn't be here till 10 P.M.
He left an officer that parked in the driveway to watch over us. they rest of the cops left and I had Tetra and Alex call their parents, they had to stay the night at my place so they wouldn't be in any danger. we had a hard time going to sleep, we hung out in my room watching something on my TV, it took a while but at some point we got some sleep. Before I crashed I was wondering what would happened to us tomorrow, I was on edge now and was worried about if the voice of the person was going to be around when my friends and I are not surrounded by an adult or cop around.
