I quickly pulled away when I realized what I was thinking. He was Kyle’s cousin. When I was 14, and he was 17, we had this thing with each other at camp. I know, I know, he’s too old for me. I’ve heard it all before. But after like a month of talking to each other, he found another girl to talk to. We got in this big fight and didn’t talk for months. Then after we started texting as friends again, I was already 15 and he already had a girlfriend. Since then, we text occasionally, but it’s not the same as it used to be. I gotta admit though, now I remember why I liked him so much at the time. He looks good. He had really tan skin, brown eyes, brown hair. Simple look, like me, except I was a lot lighter skinned. But also like me, he had nice lips. But his lips were much bigger, fuller. He was wearing a gray beanie, a black tank top, and gray, loose shorts, along with black socks and black vans. He looked hot. When I met his eyes again, his lips were curled up into a smirk at the fact that I was checking him out. I blushed and quickly looked away, embarrassed. After clearing my throat, I looked at Kyle and repeated my question from earlier. “So what’re you guys doing here again?”
“Well, I told you I would pay you back so I was getting ready to come here to surprise you and Arin had slept over the night before, so he decided to tag along to see you. Plus, your mom said we can stay on the couch for the week we’re here” He said, winking at me subtly, so only I saw it. I felt the burn rise to my cheeks again and decided to change the subject. “Well, what about your girlfriends? Wouldn’t they get upset that you guys are here the first week of summer rather than be with them?” I asked, directing the question to both of them, causing Kyle to blush slightly. “Well, my girlfriend’s at some orientation for the summer and Kyle’s girlfriend’s on vacation. Don’t worry about it” Arin said this time, smiling at the end. By this time, my mom had left the living room, only leaving the three of us here to catch up. We talked for an hour, before we were interrupted by my stomach’s loud growl.
“How bout you go get dressed into normal clothes and then we’ll take you out to lunch. Oh and call up Paige too! I miss that one” Kyle suggested, laughing. I looked over at Arin, who was looking at my lower region. When I realized he was checking out my short-short pajamas, I turned a deep shade of red and looked down, nodding at Kyle’s earlier offer. When I looked up, Arin was still eyeing me up and down. Shit this is awkward. In one swift motion, I turned around and ran up the stairs, plopping on my bed when I reached my bed. I quickly texted Paige and told her to come, before changing into a tank top and denim shorts. As I was tying the laces to my black high-tops, my phone vibrated.
Paige- hey girl! Alright I’ll be there in 5 mins! Let’s take a separate car though… we need to talk about Arin’s presence (;
Oh. I laughed at her text, slightly embarrassed at what she was implying. I did not like Arin. He had a girlfriend and I had a …boy? I don’t even know what to call Luke anymore. Talking about Luke, I hadn’t seen him in a while. I should probably text him later. I shrugged and continued to tie my shoe’s laces. After doing this, I walked to the bathroom to apply a little makeup. I looked like shit in the morning, and in all honesty, I wish Arin didn’t see me without my makeup. Wait what?! Why do I care about what Arin thinks? Ugh. I applied some mascara and blush before clipping my long bangs to the side. After taking one last look in the mirror and deciding that I look somewhat decent, I walked back downstairs to meet Kyle and Arin. They were both just talking to my younger brother about girls. My brother, Jack, was 15; three years younger than me. Kyle was only two years older than me, but Arin was 3 years older, making him almost 21. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the doorbell. I opened the door to reveal a smirking Paige. This was gonna be a longgg day.
“HEY GUYS!” Paige said enthusiastically, as she ran in to give the two guys huge hugs. They started chatting a little bit before I completely zoned out and started playing games on my phone.
