DISCLAIMER: This book is marked as mature for a reason so this chapter has some mature themes, not very graphic but hope you don't stop reading because of it. Hope you enjoy the surprise update.

Ps; dedicated this to my awesome friend Taylor because I just found that letter you wrote me from when I moved. You got me Reese for Christmas lol.

I dodged the towering trees and ran as fast as I could, the thick tree trunks rushed by like a blur and I only had two thoughts I can't let go of Grace and we can't let them catch us. The mud was thick on our shoes and I could tell that it was becoming more difficult for Grace to run " Wait, Kris! Can we stop for a second, I have rocks in shoes" I sigh but stopped and was finally able to listen to the soothing lullaby of the cool refreshing forest. The small snaps of branches breaking from little creatures scurrying by and the river flowing in it's unpredictable yet soothing sound. "Hurry, I think they are getting close, there is no way they are going to catch us this time." As I waited for her to get the rocks out of boots I looked at our shoe tread marks in the thick mud and leaves that coated the ground, dang it they could just follow our tracks.

"What are you doing Kris?" I started walking backward and trying to make it seem like we took a different route "Come on give me your hand, you have to just do what I do, alright?" She nodded and proceeded to copy my movements. I saw some low hanging thin branches and broke a few to look like we had gone that direction "Alright I think that's good, now let's go. you ready?" she smiled and we sprinted off again. I felt like we finally got away and that my tricked worked but when I heard the howls I knew it didn't.

We were standing in the center of a clearing in the woods, my breathing became ragged and I knew they were closing in. For the first time, it seemed like the freezing night air finally hit me. My adrenaline was running low so it felt like all the heat drained from my body. It didn't matter, I wasn't just going to stand here and make it easy for them to catch us. So I lead Grace to a nearby tree and boosted her up and told her to climb. It took me a bit longer to get up than she did, given, I didn't have someone helping me and she wasn't very strong so she couldn't support my weight. We sat and waited till we saw the two giant wolves sniffing and looking around in confusion.

Grace started to giggle but I covered her mouth. She going to blow our cover. It was too late, though, he had already heard us, I sighed in defeat and rolled my eyes at Grace for ruining it. We were so close! I helped her out of the tree and she climbed on top of my Father's wolf and my Mother helped me down. We like to play this intense game of hide and go seek and they always seem to find us no matter what. it's not fair.

I twisted my Mother's thick coat of shiny gray fur around in my small hands. I only hoped one day my own wolf would have the same fluffy coat. She and my Father nodded to each other and ran off in the same direction. Grace stood looking confused, I always have to remind her that they need to get dressed before they just shift back. They came back a few minutes later and we sat in the center of the clearing again, listening to the many sounds of nature. "We almost fouled you guys didn't we?" My Mother laughed and ruffled my curly messy hair, "Yeah you almost did, good thinking, leaving the second trail Krissy Boo it was really smart." I glowed with joy. My mother is the only one that ever called me that and it was so special to me.

Grace asked my father,"Daddy how did you guys know we were in the tree?" he wrapped his muscular arm around her and smiled down at my little sister, "Well we knew you guys were nearby because of the scent, but we heard your adorable laugh, that's what pointed us to the tree." Grace looked a little upset "Dang it, I was the reason you guys found us!?" "It's alright Gracie if we didn't find you then.. you wouldn't be able to meet the...Tickle Monster" He began tickling her sides and her laughter echoed through the forest. I laughed at her ridiculous smile and my Mother started to tickle me too. My laughter grew and grew to expand throughout the whole woods till I was gripping my tummy...
