Chapter 4
Veronica and Harry sat at a booth in a little diner downtown. “If my dad found out we went here, he'd kill me,” Harry told Veronica.
“It's fine,” she said. “I really like this place.”
“I'm so sorry about my dad,” Harry apologized. “He is just so annoying sometimes. He wants me to get a girlfriend so bad, I'm so sorry.”
Veronica shook her head. “Don't be,” she said. “It's really fine, I promise.”
“Really?” he asked.
Veronica nodded. “Really,” she said.
“What do you want to eat?” Harry asked.
“I'm not hungry,” she answered him.
“Me too,” he said. “Do you want to go home now, I don't blame you if you want to.”
Veronica sighed. “No, it's fine,” she said. “I don't have anywhere I need to be.”
Harry shook his head. “No you should really go home,” he told her. “I'm so sorry about my dad, please just pretend this never happened.”
“Why do you keep saying that?” Veronica asked.
“Saying what?” he asked.
“Saying your sorry,” she answered him. “Are you just trying to find an excuse to say that you don't like me?”
Harry shook his head. “No,” he answered. “I do like you, don't get me wrong, your really pretty and nice, but my dad is so weird sometimes. I'm sorry for that.”
Veronica smiled and got up from the table to leave with Harry. “Well, hopefully I'll see you around,” she told him.
“Yeah,” he said.
Veronica then smiled and kissed him. “See around,” she told him.
Harry nodded and watched her leaved the restaurant with him just standing there flabbergasted.
* * *
Veronica was on her way home in the dark. She then saw a familiar figure in front of her. “Captain America?” she asked.
The figure then came closer to her. She then realized it was that creepy guy. So she started to run away, but he was faster. He grabbed her and blind folded her eyes and covered her mouth with his hand.
She was struggling to get away from him, but she couldn't get away. When he had gotten to his new hideout, since Captain America destroyed it, he sat her down in a chair and tied her up. When she was all tied up, he took the blindfold off her eyes.
“Why do did you bring me back here?” she asked him.
He didn't answer and touched her hair. “Even though I can't exactly feel you, I feel I can,” he told her not making any sense.
“Why do you want me so bad?” she asked him. “I really think I have to go back home.”
He shook his head. “No, you have to stay here with me,” he told her.
“Please,” she pleaded. “If I don't get back then...”
“There is no 'Ifs' now,” he said.
There was then a noise from the back. “What was that?” he asked her.
Veronica shrugged. And watched as the man went back to a back room. There was silence then it sounded like metal was being hit at. Then there were a few murmurs. Then silence again. Then another man came out.
He was wearing a nice looking outfit and had dark dark brown hair. “Are you alright?” he asked.
“I think so,” she answered. “Who are you?”
“My name is Von Doom,” he answered her. “Victor Von Doom.”
