Liam's {Pretty Darn Happy} Point of View
It was the start of a new day, after my adventurous one with Ellie. My muscles were sore from the running around the city. I reflected on yesterday's amazing, beautiful events.
1) I can't believe I'm kind of Ellie's boyfriend
2) I can't believe Cindy believed it
3) I can't believe Ellie didn't notice I stole her portfolio and résumé from her bag
Hey, okay, it's not really stealing. She just had them in there because she's been looking for jobs left and right. If she applied for the One Direction styling job by herself, there would be no guarantee that she would get the job. And I REALLY want her to get the job. Not so we could spend more time together or anything... No, definitely not for that.
I was standing outside of my styling manager's office, the one person that was supposed to be hiring us a replacement stylist. She was an older lady, in her seventies, with dyed blonde short hair and a surprisingly good fashion sense. Her name was Mrs. Gordon... It felt terribly odd to call her by her first name, because I felt like she was like a nice elderly schoolteacher.
I took a deep breath and hoped Mrs. Gordon would like Ellie. I really had to sell her today, or she might never get the job.
I knocked on Mrs. Gordon's door. "Mrs. Gordon?" I asked, peeking my head through the doorway.
"Come in, sweetie." She said, her eyes floating from the notepad in front of her to my face. She motioned for me to sit down. "Now, what do you need Liam? Are you not liking your wardrobe? Oh, and make it quick, I have an interview scheduled for 12:40." She scrubbed a final mark on her paper.
"Well, actually..." I started.
"Oh no," she rolled her eyes and her expression lines showed. "You boys never start a good sentence with that."
Breathing in the perfume-y scent of her pink office, I forced myself to say, "I think I have the PERFECT person for the job."
"Oh." Her eyes sparked with curiosity.
I slid Ellie's résumé and portfolio of work over to her. I watched nervously as she flipped through it. "...go on." Mrs. Gordon said.
"Her name is Ellie Summers. She is a student at FIT, and is 20 years old, but ahead in her studies. She's young and hip, and understands all the new trends. She's a hard worker, and her own style is, er, put together as well." I responded.
"And how exactly did you find her?" Mrs. Gordon pursed her lips.
"Um, we're friends, and I think she, uh, has untapped potential and is going to be a new authority on all things fashion..."
She smirked, "Anddd you probably have feelings for her, son."
"What! Ugh, uh, no, uh, of course not! She's.. Uh... Completely repulsive looking!" I defended.
Mrs. Gordon raised her eyebrows and held up a picture of Ellie modeling one of her outfits on a runway, looking nothing short of perfect.
"Oh... Umm..."
"It's okay, son. I don't care what your reasons are, it's just fun to embarrass you!" She cackled.
Sheesh. I hope she had her fun.
