Chapter 1:
"Who's there?" A gentle, kind voice ringed throughout the forest. The voice came from a young boy, he had a red hood on him, as he pulled the hood off his curly dark hair fell into his eyes like a dark waterfall. He shrugged it off, his bright blue eyes now visible, they were the color of the sky on a blue sunny day. His skin, pale like white snow, his face with a unique female touch to it. The tip of his nose was growing red from the chilly dusk air. He huffs out a cloud of breath and continues walking. The snow and leaves crushing under his bare feet. Snap. There it was again the snapping sound. Snap. Snap. Snap. "Who's there?". He asked and looked around. It kept growing closer and closer. He gulped and closed his eyes. "It's just a rabbit...it's just..-" his thoughts stopped him. 'It's winter, they're hibernating.' He drew a quick breath and spun around, he narrowed his eyes trying to make out what was in the shadows.
"I asked...who's there?" He asked a second time, but this time his voice cracked with a squeak. He took at step back and another, from the shadow a pair of yellow eyes stared at him, it didn't show any type of emotion, no anger, no happiness, no confusion, it showed hunger. Snap. Again with the sound, the boy took another step back. His body froze, his blood turned cold. From the shadows stepped out a big black wolf. The boy's eyes widen, his breath shaking, his knees wanted to give in. The wolf stared at him, it's yellow eyes not looking away as it circled the boy. He was afraid to move, part of him said run the other stay still.
He regretted his next move, for when he started to run the wolf charged after him. The boy screamed and ran, he looked behind him for just a second, next thing he saw was the wolf's front paw knocking him down. He must have been passed out, for when he opened his eyes it was pitch black the sky above filled with stars. The full moon, shinning upon his white skin giving it a silver halo. He groaned and lifted a hand to feel his head, he slowly sat up but quickly stopped. The wolf was sitting in front of him, snarling. The boy slowly lifts his other hand holding both of them in front of him. "G-good boy..." He moved back until his back was firmly pressed against a tree, every time he took a step, the wolf would take one too. He closed his eyes and looked away, he could feel the wolf breathing down on his neck and ear. He opened his mouth and let out a silent scream.
There was a small whimper that came from the wolf, the boy confused opened his eyes and looked at the wolf, it's head was right above the boy's face. The boy looked up and blinked in confusion. 'Is it hurt?' The boy tried to stand up but fell back. A ache shot up his leg from his knee. The wolf stepped back and lowered it's head, his ears pressed against his head. It looked at the boy, it's yellow eyes looked almost like a human's when they're in great sorrow. The boy looked down at his knee, his jeans were torn on his left knee, blood covering what was visible from his knee. He hisses in pain and looks at the wolf. "Why would you do that? You hurt me" He asked the wolf and ripped a piece of his shirt off, it was already torn from when the wolf pushed him. He wrapped it around his knee, holding back a cry.
The wolf stared at the boy. "Leviiiii!!" Someone shouted. Levi's head jerked up and he looked around, from not so far a shadow with a lantern was approaching. Levi pushed the wolf making it fall to its side. "Shit! Go away. If my grandma sees you...she will kill you" The wolf jumped over a bush. As soon as he was out of sight, Levi's grandma appeared. She rushed over to Levi.
"I've been looking all over fo- oh would you look at your shirt..and pants." She took a small deep breath. "What happened to you?" She didn't even let Levi answer before she was already pulling him to his feet. Levi hissed at her in pain, she responded by smacking the back of his head. "This is what you get for playing in the woods when you're supposed to be in bed...Tch" Levi just nodded and looked behind them as they walked away. The wolf was nowhere to be seen. He sighed with relief and looked forward.
As they got to the cabin, Levi sat down and allowed his grandma to clean his injured knee. "What am I gonna do with you? First your parents...I won't loose you.". She looked up at him, her gentle brown eyes flickering with a hint of pain.
"You won't granny..." Levi looked out the small window and closed his eyes.
