"Chat Noir," I greeted my partner in chivalry with a grin and wave, perched on one of the spired roofs of the shopping district of Paris. I was all set for the fight, with my yo-yo in hand and at the ready, and had just been waiting for my "beloved" sidekick to join me for the battle. I rose to my feet as he walked across the rooftop.
"My Lady," Chat Noir spoke with a bow, his normal smiling face looking at me. My heart may belong to Adrien completely, but I couldn't help but feel my heart skip a beat at the pure adoration in those cheeky green eyes of his.
Before my thoughts could wander any further, I turned away from the arrogant cat and looked out across the rooftops. "We have to find and de-evilize her before it becomes too late and before she can cause too much damage," I said seriously.
I had just arrived on the scene of an Akumatized villain: Arachneia. She was in reality Ms. Caline Bustier, my language teacher in school. After a dispute with Chloe that had lead to her nearly getting fired from her job at the school, I suspect she was akumatized by the evil Hawk Moth.
The tom cat chuckled, stepping up to my side and joining me in looking for. He was so close to me, yet I couldn't get myself to move away from him. Fighting back a blushing that started to die my cheeks a bright pink, I pointed out towards the Eiffel Tower. An acid-green web of sorts covered the iconic structure, and a purple figure stood at the top of the tower.
"I'd bet more than anything that that's our villain," I said, breaking off into a run before Chat could even respond. The thrill of the fight... That'd help me to clear my mind of that darned cat.
As I neared the tower, I started to see more and more signs of destruction from the villain. More of the green webs plastered the street and businesses. The streets, however, were eerily quiet. My brow furrowed, I leaped down from the rooftop to the ground, rolling to suppress the impact. What I saw nearly made me gasp.
There were no people panicking because there were no people able to. There were no people visible, but... There were human-sized bundles of the webbing stuck to the webs. As I stepped towards one, my Chat Noir landed on the ground next to me.
"You should really tell me before--" Chat didn't even finish his sentence before notching the webbing that coated the street. "Woah... Gross. Grosser than hairballs and cheese."
I wasn't paying very much mind to my accomplice as I strode even closer to one of the bundles. Twirling my yo-yo, I tried to hit it, but to no avail. All I succeeded in doing was getting my yo-yo stuck in the sticky web. Grimacing, I tugged it away and looked back at my partner.
"It'll be no use wasting our time trying to free all of these people... We should go after the source; after I use my lucky charm, they'll all be freed anyway." I said to him, though it was really half to myself, hoping it was true. We had to save them all... We just had to.
"My lady..." Chat started, stepping towards me as if to try and solace me and my petty sadness. I stopped him by extending an arm and gently resting it on his chest. It was firm enough to keep him away. I relaxed my hand slightly, letting it feel his rather muscly chest, before pulling it away and looking out at the city.
"Let's go," I murmured, shaking off my now sticky yo-yo and taking off down the street. I was careful to avoid the spots of webs in fear that I would get stuck. I didn't look to see if Chat was behind me. In a way, I didn't even care. I had a task to do, and I couldn't let my mind get mucked up by him.
As I neared the base of the tower I slowed, looking up at it. It was covered in the disgusting webbing, and I shivered. How would we get up to the villainous Arachneia if we'd just get caught in the web?
Twirling my yo-yo, I searched for a spot where there wasn't any webs. Finding one, albeit a small one, I swung the yo-yo like a grappling hook at the spot. Luckily, it stuck, giving me a spot to leap to. I stung up to it, gripping the tower. I glanced down at the city, and I look down at Chat.
That was when she got him.
Arachneia descended from above far faster than I would've expected. Four extra limbs protruded from her body and a long, purple cape flowed behind her. She seemed to dive down from the sky, landing feet from him. I wanted to help him, but as I looked down some of the web had stuck to my foot. Cursing, I couldn't do anything but look down at the fight that had started, or rather her capturing him.
She lunged at him, shooting him with a sickly green web in a way that resembled one of those American superheroes. Then she just grabbed him and carried him to the major web on the tower like he was nothing more than a doll. Sticking him to the tower, she glanced up at me before grinning maniacally. I try to scream but the guttural noise can't make its way out of my mouth.
Then everything goes dark.
