Prologue

The famous evolutionary anthropologist, Professor Fredric Edson, father of Lux, invented robots that could change the safety of mankind. He created Robot Soldiers, robots that could replace humans in wars and take place as bodyguards, police, etc. The Robot Soldiers were such a big hit, it covered 78% of the world.

The Robot Soldiers, however, was hacked. The mastermind behind the whole incident is hidden somewhere controlling those merciless bots. They serve as servants to beat around human with no strength of their own. Streets were now filled with Robot Soldiers, making sure everyone is following the new order of law.

Many people think Professor Fredric's the culprit behind the chaos since he went missing right after the incident. Some thought he was dead but the rest of the world didn't think so. Knowing he would likely hide in a crowded place to get away, they began sending spies secretly after him. Out of everyone in the world, only one other person knows where he is.

[In his hide out]

For a while in his little lab underground, Fredrick worked on a serum that could change mankind's naturals evolution. Of course, he never did it alone. His ten year old daughter, Lux, was always right behind him to help whenever she could. The little girl, however, isn't living without hate burning in her head. Lux hated the fact that her father was being framed. She was tired of him talking the blame.

After months of animal mutation and countless of dead rabbits, her father succeeded on perfecting the serum. Of course, that was when she injected it in herself to prove her independence and passion in regaining her father's reputation. The process, however, didn't come painlessly.

Her dad widened his eyes at this sight. He'd never seen his daughter in such pain or form. Her body wouldn't stop forming and deforming mechanical body parts. "Lux? What did you just do?"

She said nothing, but tears answered it for him. She staggered when she took a step back from him. She nearly fell back when her leg shrunk under her.

"No. No! You can't! I'm going to get another serum and you're going to take it!" He yelled, getting a needle from his bag. He fumbled his pocket for a bottle of the pink liquid.

She shook her head and held up a hand. Her hand turned silver and took form of a gun. She pointed the barrel at him. "Come on d-daddy," she whispered, "just g-go with it-t." Her body was unstable but the gun remain solid.

"Honey! Please take the serum again! I'm begging you! It's not safe!" Professor Fredric exclaimed to his daughter.

"No! Not until you listen to me! With this power, Robot Soldiers will stop controlling us and people will believe you weren't the one who made this mess!" She shouted. She shot the table when he tried to step closer.

He backed up with frightened eyes. "Please, I can't bare to loose you! Listen to daddy, Lux!"

She stopped. The gun lost its shape, forming her hand back to normal. She held it out to him. "Fine." She said softly, "Give it to me." Her father looked relieved, and handed it to her. She stared down at the needle in her shakes hands. She looked up at her father and said, "Once I go back to normal, I'll break the law and get those bots to kill me!" She held out her arm, ready to stab herself with the needle.

Her dad swiped the needle out of her hand just in time and looked at her with frantic eyes. "Don't joke with me." He cried. "Your mother left me before and I nearly died. I can't stand the thought of you gone too. Why are you going through such length to prove my innocence."

She looked up, tears still rolling down her cheeks. "Cause I care for you," she sobbed. "I don't want to live in a world with people trash-talking about you." She rubbed her eyes furiously and looked at him with a glare. "If you were in my position, wouldn't you do the same?"

Professor Fredric broke down, slumping down to the floor. He, too, stated crying. He wrapped her into his arms. "Do you promise not to die on me?" His voice cracked.

She hugged him back to reassure him. She couldn't stop her tears from escaping either. "I won't disappoint you daddy! I will get them to believe you and kill the person who framed you! I'll grow strong for you! You won't have to hide anymore!"

He nodded and hugged her tighter. "I wouldn't even if I tried," he muttered.
