*Violet's POV*

I don't know if I can really stay away from them this long. I can feel their eyes burning into the back of my head. Prongs and Padfoot ... no, James and Sirius have tried to talk to me but I'm pushing them away. We have become so close yet now are so far away. Peter has apparently been talking to Slytherins trying to find out where I hang out most of the time but I don't know if that's true anymore. My heart yearns for the last to even look me in the eye and even try to say he's sorry for what happened that day. I find myself spending more and more time by myself or with Slughorn. I definitely don't enjoy my head of house as much as my sister enjoys him but he is good company. I walk past the mirror and realize how much of a mess it is without Remus doing every day.

*Four years ago*

I glared at myself in the mirror. My hair fanned out in a fiery halo produced by my tossing and turning at night. My sister appears next to me with glossy sleek red hair and laughs heartily .

"Are you going just like that?" she asks as I pull on my jumper over my school shirt.

"Might as well seeing as there is nothing that ever works," I say as I gesture to the memorabilia of broken brushes and combs.

As I make my way across The Common Room floor someone shouts " NOOOO!!!"

I whip my head around as I search for the owner of the voice. My eyes widen as I observe both Black and Remus tumbling down the boys staircase.

I look down at them amused, but my grin quickly fades as Black exclaims " What the bloody hell happened to your hair Red!"

I puff out my cheeks as I walk away from the insufferable idiot.

"Wait Violet, I could do it for you," blurted out Remus

The Common Room looked at him in awe. Was this really happening one of The Marauders was offering to actually help one of the Evans sisters. Heads went back and forth between Remus and I wait patiently for an answer.

"You aren't trying to trick me are you," I questioned. By now The Marauders are infamous for their lovely little pranks all over the school no one was ever safe especially Slytherins. My distrust of The Marauders well seeming well placed, but not all of that was always so true of Remus.

*End *

Every hair day after that day was a good hair day. Until now, I could see the slight cringe from him as I walked through The Common Room with my hair only in a simple messy bun. Of only he would just reach out and apologize everything could be closer to what it was.
