I don't know what guys see in me.
Do they see me as an object? A toy? A thing?
They see me vulnerable when really I know how to defend myself. Ever since the little nightmare I had in the bus with that fourth grader, My mother started to teach me how to defend myself. Even so I never told her my little experience, a mother knows when something is wrong to their child. Yet again I've been tested.
Tested to defend.
I was in one of my parent's friend's house, sitting by myself in the corner as the grownup would speak. I wasn't allowed to listen so I remained in the living room thinking of my life.
A life which I wished it was normal.
"Hey there."
I looked up to see a tall guy standing behind me.
"Err...hey." I smile nervously.
I never saw him coming. All I knew about him was that he was the family's older son. Sure I've seen him many times before but this was the first time he was speaking to me. I turned around from my seat as the guy sat next to me.
"The name's Dale." He smiled.
"Danielle." I replied.
He scooted closer to me making me feel uncomfortable.
"How old are you?" He asked.
"Sixteen. And you?" I asked.
"Twenty-two." The corner of his lip smirked.
"Oh well I err...I think I'm going to go with my parents." I tried changing the subject.
"Wait." He dived in for my hand.
I stared at him in shock as he gripped my hand. I tried flinching away but I was frozen in place. He got up and started to lead me to the dining room. I followed him slowly behind him as I was confused to why he was taking me. He pulled out a chair from the dining table and sat.
Pulling me to his lap.
"Hey what the heck man?!" I tried getting back up but he only grasped onto my waist and pulled me back to his lap.
"How about we talk?" He suggested.
"Not unless you let go of me." I gritted my teeth.
"Just thought I could..." He trailed off as next thing I knew it I could feel his lips behind my neck.
"Hey!" I shoved him off but he only grabbed my arm.
"Sorry It's just... I like you." He whispers to my ear. "Every time I see you I just can't hold back."
He starts to rub my shoulders and lean his lips close to my ear.
"I like you Danielle."
"Like isn't enough." I spat. "Who do you think I am?" I glared.
"A very pretty girl?"
"No fool." I push him back and quickly jumped off from his lap. "I'm Danielle and I'm not going to let you disrespect me!"
"I'm sorry but-"
"Stay away from me." I growl.
His eyes saddened but deep down I could see reject. He stood up and gave me a small smile.
"Sorry Danielle I didn't mean to."
"Sure you did?" I sarcastically rolled my eyes. "Don't touch me."
"Danielle I just wanted you to know that I really like you."
"And? I'm not." I start to walk off but once again he grabs my hand.
"I just admire how strong you are." His thumb starts to circle in my hand.
"Admire but don't touch." I jerk my hand away.
"Sorry Danielle." He whispers and slowly lets go of my hand.
"Danielle Is something wrong?" My father's voice sounded from down the hallway.
Dale's eyes grew wide as I felt my heart stop beating.
"I will never bother you again. Only if you let me." He apologetically smiled.
I was starting to guess Dale's fever was passing by so I let him go. I didn't want trouble with anything nor anyone.
"Yeah I'm just talking." I called out to my father.
"All righty then get ready to leave then." My father told me.
I felt relief wash over me. I turned around to see a very pale Dale start to relax.
"Thank you Danielle." He thanked me and hugged me.
"Err.. you are welcome." I patted his back and walk off.
"Just remember..." I look back at him. "Never get a girl by force."
"I won't. Sorry Danielle and thank you." He smiled.
"Whatever." I chuckled and walk away from him.
Even so the guy tried to force me, I could tell he learned his lesson. Sometimes I wonder why guys get desperate to get me. Just wish....one day just one day someone will actually love me. For the meanwhile though I will wait.
Wait for my prince to rescue me.
