This one is a weird one. You can take this one if you want - I have no desire to finish it.
It was a normal day. Or it started off as one.
Get up. Fall asleep. Actually get up. Wash, dress, food. Brush teeth, leave for school. Start walking.
Only, today, I'd hardly turned the corner when someone was shouting for me.
We live in a bad area - a stereotypical block of flats. The police basically live here, there's so much crime. But I still turn and watch the man run up.
I remember he had a long jacket, a tan jacket, and he was carrying three pieces of paper. He stopped about two meters away from me and grinned. It wasn't a pleasant grin. It made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
"You actually stopped." The smile widened. "Stupid child."
I started to walk away again, heart speeding up, mouth suddenly dry, but he walked by my side. "Don't worry, kid, I'm just gonna show you some pictures and offer you a choice."
"Please stop talking to me." I almost whimpered. He laughed.
"No can do. Seriously, they're not bad pictures. Simple enough. Just look." He stepped in front of me, spreading his arms out. I could either shove past him or look at whatever he wanted to show me.
I wish wish wish I'd just pushed past.
He shoved the pictures into my hand. I glared at him then glanced down at them.
Three pictures - my mum in one, my dad in the other and my little sister in the last one.
"What the-?"
"See these pictures? It's your family. See how easy it was to take them?"
The picture of my mum is her in the back garden, hanging out washing. It's captured her soft beauty. The picture of my dad has him coming out of the car after work. The one of my little sister is her in a nursery, laughing at something.
"It would be just as easy to kill them as it was to take the pictures."
He's taking them back now, stowing them in his coat. I can see countless other pictures in there - countless other families he's threatened.
"What do you want?" I'm whispering, eyes wide with horror. He grins.
"I won't touch your family if you promise to do something for me." He tells me, adjusting the cuff of his jacket. I don't answer. "I won't tell you what now, but..." From the outside pocket of his jacket, he pulls out a wire. "Keep this in your ear for a while. I'll be in touch."
He's walking away. "What if I say no?" I call out.
He turns his head to stare at me, eyes disbelieving. "What do you think? I'll kill everyone you love." He turns away again.
I should've dropped the wire and crushed it. I know the family would've been killed - but I should've.
I'm not here to tell you what I should of and shouldn't of done. I'm here to tell the truth.
I put the thing in my ear and set off for school, the threat hanging over me for a while. I probably forgot about the whole thing for a while as my body grew more and more accustomed to the wire. Heck, the only times I remembered it was morning washes and evening showers.
Fast forward two weeks and the same voice as the mans crackles in my ear. The headphone didn't come with a microphone, so I can only listen.
"We have the house surrounded now. Okay, go outside. You have five minutes, then we'll kill everyone."
I dropped the school work I was doing and headed out quickly. The man laughed.
"You're actually there! Right. What now... Walk down the road, turn right and go past your school."
I strained to hear him over the headphone, but he wasn't near by. I still walked as slowly as possible. But I still made it to the school.
"Now left. Right. Left. Straight ahead. Over that wall."
I arrived in a garden. I didn't recognize it personally, but I knew it was very similar to our old garden - before we moved to the flat.
So in Philosophy at school, we were watching this thing about Death Row and someone had a story similar to this one, which I found interesting... So I stole it.
Ehhehehheh
In case you can't tell, the person was going to go kill two people. I just can't see myself finishing it.
Until next time ~

Taster book of sorts IDK
RandomI.. Uh... Well I tend to write little sections of books, or tasters, or start writing something and never finish it - and I feel bad for those books. So I'll be putting odd bits and bobs in here so you can view them at your leisure. I'll say at the...
