10:30am
This is the fourth time Eleanor climbed these flights of stairs, not including the three flights in her new apartment. She should probably get use to it since she's gonna live here for a while.
As she double check to see she got all of the boxes; kitchen, lounge, bedroom, toiletries, nerd - wait, she didn't bring her nerd box.Shit.
She ran back down the stairs, making it the fifth time she traveled these stairs. Collecting the box, making sure none of the objects had fallen out.
As she slowly carried the last box sideways up the stairs. She somehow tripped on the edge of the stairs and making her fall onto her side, causing the box to fall out of her grasp. Eleanor open her eyes and exhaled loudly, a man in front of her yelped from the sudden impact of the box as it lands in front of him.
"Shit. Are you okay?" he asks.
She nodded her head. Her left arm and left thigh was throbbing with pain. She stood up and let out a loud, trembling sigh. He looks at the box with the fallen objects then to her.
"Um here... Let me help you"
They both bent down to assemble the fallen objects. His fingers gently placing them on top of each other in the box, like he was putting a baby in its cot, praying not to break it. By the look on his face, it looks like he recognizes some of the things.
"Are you sure you're okay? You landed pretty hard on those steps. Here let me-"
She gently grabbed his left shoulder and shook her head, indicating him that I'm alright.
My neighbor is a gentleman, how sweet. She thought.
"I guess you're a nerd then"
He asked as he places some Harry Potter books back into the box. She nodded in his response, along with a little smile and blush out of shyness.
"It's okay, I'm a nerd too. There's nothing to be ashamed about."
This is getting a little to.. Convenient here
"I'm assuming you're our new neighbor, I'm Dan, by the way. I live with my best mate, Phil, who should be here any second"
Just as he finished talking, a man came out of the door across from hers and stood next Dan, guessing that he's Phil. To her, they look like brothers, with the same haircut and height. Except Phil was a little bit shorter than Dan, has black hair and more paler skin. But apparently they're best mates.
He has the most beautiful galaxy jacket I've ever seen. It suits him, somehow. I want it.
"Dan did you trip over the- oh hi, you must be our new neighbor, I'm Phil"
He made a little wave that was almost like he was saluting her. She waved at him back, awkwardly.
"Do you need any help with that?"
She shook her head to Phil's offer.
His best mate is also a gentleman. Bonus. This the first time I've had kind neighbors since the three years I've been living alone.
The neighbors she use to have were absolutely horrendous; yelling, screaming, smoking marijuana and the worst of all, hearing them having sex.
She slightly shivered and cringe at the memory."Are you okay? You look like you just had a cringe attack"
So that's what they call it, a cringe attack.
Eleanor been having those for the last three years of living at that shitty apartment.
She give them the thumbs up."Well it was nice meeting you but Phil and I have to go to a mates house. See ya"
Wish I had that many friends.
She waved at them as they doubled stepped down the stairs to the entrance door, unlocking the door and disappeared behind it. Like they just entered Narnia or something.
She unlocked her apartment door and ran up the steps, hoping it will be the final time she'll be travelling those stairs for the day.
She set the box down into her bedroom and plonked onto the naked bed. She stared at the ceiling for a while until her eyes felt droopy, closing them shut and entered her world of slumber.
