On The Run

CHAPTER 1

"Kimberly, what is the answer for number 1?" Mrs Ashford asked.
"Please repeat the question again?" I asked, i looked like a fool because the question was on the board.

"Kimberly can i see you after class?" She asked.
"Girl, is everything alright? You haven't been paying attension lately." Riley asked. Riley is my bestfriend and i trust her but i can't really tell her what is going on.

"Nothing, trust me." I said.
The bell rang and i remained  behind.

"Miss kimberly Harkin, you are one of the top students in this school, what is going on?" Mrs Ashford asked.
"Nothing mam."
"Are sure."
"Yes " i nodded
"If you need anything feel free to ask me."
"Yes mam." When i left the class i saw Riley waiting at door.
"Kim, your dad is waiting for  you." She said
"Thanks," i gave her a hug.

I saw my dad standing outside his car, he looked very angry.
"Good afternoon dad." I said.
"Kimberly, why do you like keeping me waiting?"
"Sorry dad, my teacher wanted to talk to me after class."
"This, shouldn't happend again"
"Yes sir." I got in the car.

The drive home was very quite and awkward. My dad and i were very close until he changed, he became  very bitter and angry and no one knows why.

When we got home my mom had already made lunch. Macaroni and cheese, my dad and I loved macaroni and cheese night.

"What is this rubbish?" Dad took the mac and cheese and he threw it on the floor.
"I thought that you liked mac and cheese." Mom said
"Well you thought wrong, do you even listen to a single thing I say in this house." He started shouting at mom.
"How can I ever listen to you if you are always shouting." Mom shouted back.
"Are you shouting at me?" Dad furiously asked and started slaping her.

He banged her head against the wall several times and threw her on the dinning table. She started to bleed on her head and i couldn't handle it anymore so I jumped on his back and he threw me on the floor I lended on the stairs and i started rolling down. I could hear mom shouting my name.

Dad finally stopped hitting mom and she came rushing to me.

*Jennet (mom)'s prov*

I could my daughter kim in pain but I don't think she wanted me to see it. I tried rushing to her even though I was in pain myself.
"Kim are you okay." I asked.
" I am, look your head is bleeding, I'll go get the bandage.
*Kim's prov*

I tried getting myself up and went to mom and dad's room. When I got inside dad was sitting on the bed.
"Kimberly what are you doing here?''
''Uhmm....mmm..well.....I...I..I" I was so scared that I could not  even speak.
"Kim..."
"No...umnm...dad I was just living." I ran out of the bedroom and went to sit next to mom on the floor. " mom, maybe we should go to the clinic." I suggested.
"The both of you aren't living this house, I am going to a meeting and When I come back I want to find food an the table. You know what Jennet, let me have your house keys." He took mom's house keys and locked us in.

"Kim go pack you clothes and we will ran away from this Crazy man.'' She said, I looked at her like she was crazy cause dad locked us and went with the keys.
"Mom, dad went with the keys."
"Kim, he went with my keys and not yours." She smiled.

I ran upstairs and started packing as fast I could. We opened the the door slowly and checked for safety.
"Mom, which car are we taking?"
"Your father is tracking all of them, so we will have to walk Joey's motors to rent a car."

We ran while pulling our suitcases until we got to Joey's.
"Joey, I need one of your best cars." Mom said as I was looking out for dad.
"Ok mam, for how long."
"Just for today, I will return it to Joey's motors in Texas."
"Ok mam, have a nice trip."

We got in the car and I was angry at mom.
"Kim, why do you look angry?" She aked.
"What do you expect, we are living Hollywood just to go to Texas."
"Texas is the last place your dad will suspect. Let's pass by the mall we need to get some wigs and clothes."
"Fine." I said.

We bought everything we needed and then the was a little twist.
"Mom, look its dad."
"Kim, kim, kim, is that you?" He called. Mom and I started to walk fast we didn't want to run cause he was going to know that it was us.
"Kim, lets get into the ladies bathroom." We got in the bathroom and dad was waiting outside.
"Kim, change into your cowgirl outfit and put on your wig and I will do the same."
"But mom..."
"No buts we have no choice."
We both changed, I was a blond with blue contacts. Mom was redhead with Brown contacts.
When we left the bathroom we looked so different and that dad couldn't even recognise us, I couldn't even recognise myself.

We finally got to Texas and it was midnight. We went to this place where it smelled like chicken, not flame grilled chicken I am talking about live chicken. I couldn't really see properly cause of the darkness I just followed my mom's direction.

We got into the room and it was too plain."wow, the is no way I will be sleeping here." I said.
"Kim, I am too tired to start arguing good night. She turned the lights off. How I miss our mention in Hollywood, I have such beautiful clothes and the best bedroom. This room is not even half the size of my closet.
