I woke up to the sunshine in my face. I woke up with a smile thinking that I was not a loner in this new place anymore. I slowly crawled out of my be and grabbed my phone. To my surprise, there were two messages from Johnny. The first read, "I can come hangout in a little while," and the other said, "Hey, where is your house at dude?" I quickly replied with my address and I smiled while doing so.
Moments after I got off the phone, I heard a car pull down my driveway. As the car made itself to a halt, I headed to the front door. I happen to open the door about the same time Johnny was going to knock.
Feeling awkward about the moment, I invited him into our house. When he walked in he was speechless about the house. In some weird way, I feel like he could relate to me.
Though that was the thought on my mind, I let it go. I asked him if he wanted to hangout in my room or in the kitchen to learn more about each other and he politely asked to get a glass of water before we started. We walked into the kitchen and I fixed him a glass of ice cold water. He thanked me for the water. So we sat down at our oak wood table and began to talk. We had talked for hours before he had to go home.
During our talk, I learned that Johnny started playing football when he was 12. I also learned that he had a passion for playing the guitar. He told me when he got older he wanted to go to college full time on a scholarship for football. I thought that he has set up a good plan for his future. Though I had plans of my own, they fell to shambles because of the move but, I had a new friend and liked it here so I might alter them.
Although things were going great in my new home, people knew nothing of my secret and I planned to keep it that way. The last time that secret was let out it created a mess of me. I couldn't bare to put myself through that pain again. So for now, the people of this small town should not know.
