Beep, beep, beep!

Beep, beep, beep!

Beep, beep, be-

You slapped off the alarm clock and roll onto your back, eyes peeping open.

Today was the day you and some friends decided to go see him, for the first time since the funeral... his funeral.

3 weeks after he was pronounced dead, 2 weeks after the funeral service and you still couldn't wrap your head around the idea that... he was gone. Out of your life forever, never to create new memories together. Only haunted by the sweet moments turned bitter by his death.

You get out of your bed, feet meeting the cold carpet floor. You walk to your dark, wooden oak dresser. The knee-length black dress you had picked out to wear today hung on a clothes hanger, on a metal hook of the dresser.

You reach up and grasp the hanger, pulling it off the hook and closer to you. You clutch the fabric to your heart, remembering that he had brought you this dress as a gift 3 years ago when you had moved into your new house, the one you live in now.

You set the dress on one arm and grab some clean clothes with the other to go take a warm shower on this cold, mid-winter morning.

You blew dried your wet hair, put on your usual natural makeup, slipped on the the dress and some thick black stockings. You comb your [H/L], [H/C] hair and go back to your room.

You slip into a pair of black heels and was beginning to look for a jacket when your phone started ringing. You pick it up and check the caller ID, Hanji Zöe. You press the green button and hold the device up to your ear.

"Hey Hanji." You said monotonously.

"Hey [F/N], you ready? I'm almost at your house." Her voice came from the other end of the line.

"Yeah, almost. I just need to find my jacket and then we're good."

"Better bring an umbrella too. Looks like it'll be raining again, it's been raining all week."

"Ok, see you in a bit."

"See you."

You hung up and began rummaging through your dresser, looking for the black jacket you bought last week.

Hanji knocked on the door seconds after you found the jacket tucked away in the back. You quickly pull it on, grab your purse and hurry to the front door.

"Hey Kiddo. How are you doing?" The tall brunette asked you as you opened the front door. You grab an umbrella from the stand beside the door and step outside, joining her on the porch.

"I'm not a kid Hanji. And I'm doing fine. I just can't believe he's gone." You reply, closing and locking the front door.

"None of us can [F/N], none of us can..." She exhaled sadly. The two of you head to the car, the cold air making you pull your jacket tighter around you.

You got into the car, the engine already purring and warm air circulating inside the interior of the vehicle. You buckle up and settle into your seat. You unconsciously stare at the fogged window, a finger lifting up and writing his name as Hanji pulled away from the curb.

A comfortable silence lingered between you two as she drove through the town towards the cemetery.

"Hey [F/N]? You're still ok with going to Survey for breakfast right?" Hanji glanced quickly to you then back to the road. You nodded.
