Natasha and Steve trekked their way through the forest looking for the HYRDA base they had been told was likely to reside within. Unfortunately for them, they had stumbled upon many traps on there way in. "This doesn't make any sense though." Steve said frustrated. "We've been walking for hours and all we've come across is traps."
"Well they sure do a good job at getting on your nerves Cap." Natasha smirked at her comrade.
"This isn't HYDRA's style." Steve shook his head with a confused frown upon his face. The two stopped when they heard another voice come from above them.
"Of course it isn't" The girl spoke to them from her relaxed position high up on a sturdy branch of the tree. "It's mine, well, at the moment it is. I must say though I'm still not very good at setting them still." She smirked down directly at Steve.
"How did we not not notice her before?" Steve muttered feeling slightly alarmed.
"Because I didn't want you to." She answered for him. "It's and honor to meet you in person Captain, you too Black Widow." She said before dropping to the ground still having a fifty meter distance between them.
"You know who we are?" Natasha asked.
"Well knowing who Captain America is easy, I've been to the museum. But you Agent, well that's another story." Her smirk never left her face.
"You know who we are," Steve spoke up getting defensive. "It's only fair we know who you are."
"Awe, now I'm a little disappointed that you don't know my name." She pouted. "Well, my name is Claudine. It's a pleasure to officially meet you both." She repeated.
"Wish we could say the same." Natasha spoke. "Are you stopping us from finding where the rest of HYDRA is hiding?"
"HYDRA?"
"Don't play dumb, why else would you be out here setting traps?"
"How about hiding myself?"
"Why would you be hiding?" Steve asked
"I have my reasons, just like you being out here is the wrong reason."
"I don't believe you." He sneered.
"I never said you had to. But it is the truth."
"If it is then you won't mind coming with us then." Natasha stated with authority.
"I'm not going anywhere," She said crossing her arms. "I'm not a fan of the idea of being a prisoner."
"Then we will take you by force." She said taking up an offensive position.
"Last chance." Said Steve.
"Well now it look like I'm just going to have to take my chances then." Claudine sighed rolling her eyes and letting her arms fall down to her sides. Just as Natasha is about to lunge forward Steve speaks gaining her attention.
"Leave her to me." He says and she looks at him confused. "There's something strange about her, she landed perfectly without braking anything." He then looks at her. "Even you'd have to roll on the fall." Natasha nods her head in agreement.
"I'll go scope out ahead and see if I can find any signs of HYDRA."
"You won't find anything except more traps." Claudine's statement was ignored. And with that Natasha turned and swiftly made her way in the opposite direction. Steve faced Claudine fully and pulled his shield from his back to hold in front of himself.
"It's just you and me now."
"So it would seem. Well, the odds are fairly even now at least except for the minor detail of you being a super soldier anyway."
"How-"
"The museum teaches you a lot of things you know." She stared at him expectantly. "Well what are you waiting for then. You are taking me by force right?" He frowned at her underneath his helmet/mask. That's when their battle began. He charged forward at her swinging his shield at her head, stepping back it was a very near miss when he swung his other fist at her she pushed it across her body with one hand, her other coming to collide with his face but he caught her fist and roughly shoved her back. She spun around to kick and her foot bounced off the shield. The two continued to throw blows at the other, continually dodging and blocking with the occasional hit colliding with it's target successfully. Steve getting more of an advantage than Claudine, she was lucky to evade as much as she had luckily being agile. The fight lasted for about half an hour before Steve landed a kick to her stomach sending her back into a tree. "Ah!" She hissed in pain.
"To be honest," Steve began as he approached her. "I'm surprised you managed to keep up with me for so long."
"Don't go boasting your ego now." She muttered breathing heavily looking up at him with one eye closed as he stopped in front of her. "I was going easy on you."
"You were going easy on me?" He raised his brows. "I find that hard to believe."
"Didn't think I could fool you with that one." She smirked lightly. Just then a jet zoomed over head and her smirk quickly turned into a frown as Steve did also. "I hope that's only your back up."
"We didn't call for any." Steve said looking back down at Claudine and she seemed to pale.
"Well then we had better get moving or we'll be in deep shit." She said forcefully pushing herself up from the tree and beginning in the direction that Natasha had gone but she was stopped by Steve grabbing her arm. "What-"
"You can't escape that easily."
"Don't be stupid. Follow me." She said pulling her arm, he began to follow along side but kept his firm grip on her arm. "You were either followed on your way here-"
"No we made sure of that." She looked at him with a glare.
"Well then your friend has made it to my tiny make shift cabin and messed around with stuff that I stole and they managed to track the signal." He then looked at her, putting his shield on his back again he lifted his hand and put it to his ear.
"Romanoff, where are you?"
"I found a cabin and some HYDRA technology." He went silent and looked at Claudine questioningly.
"We've got company coming." He stated to her. "We're on our way to you."
"Well you can hurry, I disabled all the traps on my way here." At that Steve picked up the small girl and started running with her in his arms.
"What the-"
"Direct me to your cabin."
"Keep going straight, that's the only direction." After she said that he ran as fast as he could. Within the minute they made it.
"Rogers!" Natasha said startled as the door almost hit her when he crashed through it. He placed Claudine down and she dashed forward to grab a back pack.
