You can choose to be a magical creature, however the royals are purely human. Magic beings are all lowest of the low, and are hunted. The only safe place is in The Rebellions.

The Kingdom of the North-
As of currently, the Kingdom of the North is ruled by the House Laelon. The Kingdom once was in the hands of The House of Araelia, however, many generations ago, was unable to produce a male heir, this married the eldest daughter to the The House of Laelon. Soon after losing their throne, the queen was reported dead, and the king quickly married another. This has produced high tensions between the houses.
As well, The House of Cuithia has high tensions with the Laelon, since the Laelon had pressed for the marriage of their son over the Cuithian's. Since the death of the queen, The House of Cuithia have cried fowl and claim that the throne was unfairly taken from them.
