The Knights of Zuku

Prologue

The Kingdom of Zuku stood on a small island in the northeastern part of the new continent just outside a small harbor. King Zuku was originally from a small country in Northern Africa. During his rule in Africa the continent began to change it was no longer the flourishing place he knew. The wetlands began to dry and the tropical paradises slowly disappeared. Food and water became scarce and Zuku's people went into an unfortunate famine killing a large amount of the kingdom. So in a last ditch effort, to save the remaining society, King Zuku moved his people to the new continent that he had several dreams about.

When he brought his people over to make a home on this new land he never expected what was waiting for him. Their new home was cursed. Many vile evil creatures lurked throughout the night killing Zuku's people. Although he wasn't sure how the god's could help Zuku asked the gods for assistance. The god's responded by offering Zuku's top men an ability to rid the continent of the evil, to aid the men in their mission they all received immortality and superior strength. As a part of the superior strength their bodies were changed into a half wolf and half man form. These men became known as the Knights of Zuku.

The Knights of Zuku mainly came out just after dusk when the vile creatures, now known as vampires, arose from their sleep. In the beginning it was an easy job, hunting at night and returning to their homes during the day, but as time went on the world and their land began to change. The Kingdom of Zuku became hidden amongst other buildings that were arising on the island, and the island eventually took on the name of New York City.

New York City flourished with life quickly, it became a busy place. There were always people bustling around even during the wicked hours that the knights would hunt. The knights began finding it harder and harder to stay hidden in the shadows of the night. They had to find a way to hunt without frightening the people of their land. Once again they found themselves turning to their gods. The gods granted the knights the ability to shift. Shifting allowed the knights to be men when on the prowl and they would shift to their creature form when it was time to make a kill. In both men and creature forms they still held their superior strength.

As time changes everything it changed New York City. In the 1900's New York City, became the most populated city, most of the city remained opened 24 hours a day, and the vampires began taking over. It was easy for the vampires to multiply, just a bite would change a human provided the vampire did not drain them off all their blood. The human population grew so did the vampire, but the original 10 knights were now down to 7 and they had no way to increase their numbers. So for a third time they called on their gods to give them a way to increase the amount of knights available.

The head knight Rakeen was given the ability to change any human he felt worthy of the power and strength the knights possessed. But he was warned to chose wisely, because any human changed would also be granted immortality, and would be just as strong as him and the other knights, and could potentially be a threat. The other knights along with Rakeen, were now also granted the ability to reproduce. Originally as a part of their change their ability to reproduce was taken away. The gods felt the men would easily be distracted if they maintained their reproduction needs. However now with the need to have more knights there would be no better way but to make their own.

Now at the turn of the century the 7 men ( Rakeen, Vadid, Lakim, Kric, Lago, Galim, Tarik)set out to rid the world of vampires and now find their mates. The gods picked seven special females for the men, the men each had one of the females designated as their one and only mate. Each of the women would be able to sustain a pregnancy with the changed DNA of the knights. The women would also become immortal once they accept their knight and their knight's wolf, but they were not granted the ability to shift only the men and their male offspring would have the ability to shift.
