There had been many theories about how she was murdered..

Some say she was tortured and thrown into the river Ares which was several blocks away from her small apartment. Others claim to have seen bloody figure walking away from the scene of the crime towards the woods where she is supposedly buried.

Although the claims that these footsteps were several meters wide and came from "bigfoot" made the possibility of this very unlikely.

I pushed through the massive crowds of journalists and photographers.

"Is there any new leads?" "Are there any new suspects?" "Was she shot?" "How did she die?"

"No statement." I yelled before going into the apartment building.

"Jeez. Did'nt know she was that high profile." I said taking a sip of my morning coffee in the elevator.

"Miss USA. Voted the most sexiest woman 2 years in a row. Basically Americas sweetheart."  Susie, the blood splatter analyst, said waving her hands around in a bored fashion. "I cant even count how many magazines shes been on the cover of."

"Well she'll be on the cover for an entire new reason now." I muttered getting out of the lift and into the apartment.

Bottles of champagne and gift baskets were seen from every corner. Boxes of what I presume was shoes was all over the floor and racks and racks of designer clothing hid the eggshell white walls.

It was not her lavish gowns that caught my eye though. It was her one particular lavish gown covered in blood with her left leg next to it.

"Is that it? Or am I literally not seeing the entire picture here?" I said gesturing the living room. Susie just laughed and set to work.

The police dogs have been at it for hours to search for the rest of the body but the scent only led as far as the woods outside the city.

Bigfoot huh?  I looked down at my worn out old boots.

"Detective Tanner." I turned around at my new partner, Matthew Yates, coming towards me. "No sign of a forced entry or any goods stolen. All cash and jewelry are in place."

"So I guess this was no burglary gone wrong then.. Check with the neighbors and security. Someone must've heard something or seen something."Before Matthew could say anything, I yelled, "No bigfoot!"He looked at me disappointed as the cops laughed.

"So they are sending the body- well what left of it to the lab." Susie said to me removing her gloves. "As far as I can see there is no sign of it being cut here in the apartment. Everything except the dress is spotless."

"What if the unsub just cleaned the lace after the deed?"

"From the time it was cut, placed here and then reported, it leaves him a very narrow time window. So its very unlikely." Priya, the coroner answered as she continued to examine the limb.

"So it has just been placed here?"

"Looks like it." She said looking up at me. "Also," She pointed at the thigh. "This was cut from a living body. There are signs of a struggle."

"So she might be alive even now."

"Look at the bone though. The cut is so raggedy.. it has to be something like a knife.. "

"Mustve taken years.." Susie added.

"Yikes." I said unamused.

They nodded as they stood up and moved away to let the photographers do their thing.

"Someone was definitively out for this girl, thats for sure." I said grimly staring.

"So.. Brunch?" Priya chirped.

I laughed.
