A New Threat

Ok guys, gonna have a short intro. Next chapter might be the story of me meeting BlazerC or something else I can think of. This is the continuation of the mad scientist story, aka Rocketman's fifth training mission. (which was dumb as hell, but I decided to add a story to it)

"Sir, all Vaktovians have left the capital!" A Private said to me after a long and grueling battle with Vak.

"Good, now then, as I was saying with the story." I started "I was at the time a Seargent when they sent me to try and find the mad scientist that had gotten away."

Then there was the flashback of a transport carrier on the landing pad of a small base in the middle of a snowy planet, a Seargent exits wearing the new Power Suit made by WAC. Despite the green suit's thickness and the winter survival hat the seargent was wearing, he was clearly freezing his ass off.

"Sir! How did you make it here in this storm?" a Private asked as I stumbled into one of the buildings in the base.

"Its called 2SS training, Private." I said, covered in snow "God, I hate the cold. Why'd I get sent HERE of all places."

"No idea sir, all I know is that on top of that mountain, the scientist were after is hiding with a machine that could take out entire cities." the private said, pointing to a mountain not too far away.

"I guess we'll have to go after him after this storm lets up." I said as I laid down in bed "G'night Private, don't let the Jujubes bite."

"What sir?" he said, confused

"Oh, it's a small animal from the planet Jongu, had to spend a week there. Ughhh" I said as I fell asleep

"It was at least 2 more days before I could accually go outside the small building, and then three more days before I could start the trek towards the mountain and not freeze to death

"Sir, are you sure you don't want to wait a couple more days?" the Private said as we started walking across a plain of Ice. There were only him and a Corporal in the base so we set out on our own to try and find the scientist.

"Of course I'm sure!" I said with detirmination "Why wouldn't I be?

"I don't know..." he started to say before a loud whirring noise came from somewere in the distance. By now we had gotten too far away from the base to go back so we ventured onwards. About 5 minutes later the whirring noise turned into what I recognized as the sound of a cannon charging up, getting ready to be fired.

"GET DOWN, HES GONNA FIRE THE CANNON!" I yelled as I pulled them both to the ground.

Suddenly, a bright flash came from the top of the mountain and reached to the sky. When I looked to where it had landed, the entire base was in ashes, destroyed in seconds and a large crack on the ice was spreading towards us. Luckily the ice around us didn't crack, but the Corporal fell in.

"GAAAHHH!!" he screamed as we quickly pulled him out, I knew that if we didn't get off the damn planet he would die of Frost Bite.

"Private, we have to continue on, or we'll die in this cold." I yelled at the private who was still trying to warm up the Frozen Corporal. "If we take the base he's in up there then we'll come back and take him up." I said as I continued towards the mountain, knowing he wouldn't make it.

"But sir! He'll die if we leave him!" the Private yelled

"*Sigh* Fine, I'll call HQ." I said as I pulled out my radio "HQ, we have a man down, base has been destroyed, and ther Private and I are continuing towards the mountain. If we don't get Evac. we WILL DIE OUT HERE!"
