The night had seemed to drag on,it's stars glittering in it like small jewels. As a small breeze had passed through the now sleeping midnight grotto one animal had stayed awake. The slightly large, midnight blue fox had walked to the lonely balcony, his lighter shade hair blowing in the chilling midnight breeze. The fox had rested a front paw on the balcony's rusted iron railing as he had looked up at the bedazzled night sky. He sighed as he set his crown beside him "Another sleepless night...I wish it wasn't always like this," he said in a hushed, sad tone as he had watched his now peaceful kingdom. His golden eyes had studied his kingdom most of the houses were smashed leaving half of the residents to either sleep outside or sleep with other homed residents. The fox had closed his eyes letting all the memories of war flow through his mind "and now I've gotten her involved in all this...all I did was want to keep her safe and now she's out there...where she could die. God, I'm so stupid". The fox had shut up, letting silence fill up the empty space like a thick fog. After an hour or two a familiar female voice broke the calming silence "Prince Diance? What are you doing up so late?" The small female bat had questioned rubbing her large, blue orbs."oh hello lilac,I was just....thinking that's all..."he had stated."thinking hmm? Come on Diance you can't just keep staying up like this your going to make yourself sick"she stated in a worrying tone. The larger fox had felt stunned,no one had ever worried about his well being most others cared only for the kingdomand it's safety. He seemed to be struggling to get his feelings into words,he wanted to thank his bat companion but on the other paw he wanted to keep his calm princely nature in front of her. "Lilac I..I understand your concern but I will be perfectly fine..now please go back to bed".Lilac slightly saddened by his words obeyed his command and flew back to her small canopy downstairs
