The next day, Xander woke earlier, and I assume that he brought his car to school instead of riding with me as he promised. I did my morning routine, changing into a cream-colored, off the shoulder top, and skinny jeans, and cream colored flats. I grabbed my History and Math textbook from my desk and stuffed it inside my bag. See? I did my homework late last night. Cookie was still sleeping in her doggie bed, not wanting to wake her up; I tiptoed outside and closed the door softly.

As I walked down the hall, I went to check if Xander's already awake (His room was two more rooms from mine), so slowly opened the door, "Xander," I called softly, but his bed was neatly made, and his school bag wasn't in his study table, so meaning he already left, either for school or down for breakfast.

I sighed as I closed the door softly. I walked towards the west wing of the second floor, towards the music room. The sun shone brightly from the massive windows, filling the room with life and light. Instruments of different kinds hang on walls like a display, guitars (played by my brother), violins which I played during my early years, and an extravagant, grand piano placed in the center of the room, it's hood reflecting the sun making it look like covered in diamonds shinning. And beside it was my cello. I have three in total, one propped in my room, and one here in the music room. This particular cello in the music room was the one that I'm using for practice or whenever I have a recital, the one in my room, I'm using if for everyday basis, the other was in France, it was my very first cello. I has so many memories with it. Grandma gave me that cello.

I grabbed my sheet music on the music stand which was placed open the last left it and went out.

I heard laughs as I reached the dining hall. The room was filled with laughs of Mama who was sitting across Xander, and Cassandra, sitting on the former sitting place of papa, smiles were fixed on their faces as Cassandra told them something funny. "Oh, good morning, Alexandria. Come, join us." Mama said, beaming. I don't know why but a part of me was telling that I should, but the other told me to walk away. But the way the beckoned me to join their meal, it makes me feel as if I'm a part of a family again. But the distant memory of mama's betrayal flashed through my eyes again.

"I'm not hungry." I said simply as I walked towards one of the super old vases of grandma, which was painted in elegant gold with exquisite patterned design of snakes (this was my favorite), displayed in the dining hall. There were six vases in total, each with different styles and color, parallel to each other. Before grandma died, when I was about seven, papa, Xander and I returned to America to be with grandma during her last breath. She told me to take care of that particular vase because it was the exact vase that grandma and grandpa met. They both had their eyes on that particular vase that day, and as their eyes landed on each other, they knew that they were meant for each other. Romantic right? Wouldn't it be nice if all love stories ended up like theirs? But not all people were blessed with such happenings.

"And, Xander," I began, he looked at me. "You're driving on your own." I said, with I think too much ice in my voice. I never spoke that way to my brother that way, ever. I can see the shocked expression in his eyes, I just reluctantly walked away, looking down at my feet.
