I sat in the corner of a coffee shop. My fingers slowly tapped away at my mom's laptop. I was trying to write an essay for school on a book I was supposed to read for summer school.
I let my fingers droop and my head fall for a moment. Summer school... I would stopped it long ago but Annabeth kept reminding me that it's the only way I'll get to go to college with her in New Rome.
I sighed and rubbed my eyes. I hadn't actually read the book. Why didn't I take the time to read it? I should've read it, Annabeth and my mom kept reminding but why didn't I listen.
I groaned as I mindlessly typed out what I did know from watching the movie of it. I knew it wouldn't be the same but I didn't have time to read it now.
I picked up my cup of coffee and glanced around the small shop as I sipped away. I was getting this weird feeling. Like someone was watching me. I'd had it for a few days but I hadn't noticed anyone.
As I set my cup down I looked back at the bright screen. Words were jumbled around. I groaned and shut the laptop. I was so done for the day. I pulled the portable computer into my backpack and drained the last but of coffee in my cup but before I could stand someone sat down across from me. Impatient much?
I moved to get up, but the man grabbed my arm." Sit." I plopped back in my seat unsure of what else to do.
The man was wearing a black suit and a white shirt and black tie. A pair or dark sunglasses covered his eyes. I saw a flash of silver as he waved a badge discreetly." I am here on behalf of Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division or better known as S.H.I.E.L.D. We would like to ask you a few question and have an offer to make you so if you could please come with us."
As he said the last part three other men came up; one on either side of me and the third behind me.
" your compliance would be appreciated." The one behind me snarled. I glanced at the coffee shop once more before standing. I couldn't let any of these people suffer for anything I did. I held up my hands for a moment." Okay, okay, I'm coming." I cursed at him in Greek under my breath.
I saw him grimace as I smirked. I pulled my back pack on to my back and walked out of the door with the four men trailing behind me.
Plan. Plan. Plan. Gotta think of a plan. I paused right outside of the coffee shop unsure of where to go." Walk towards the black suburban." The man with the receding hairline said. There was no venom in his voice, unlike the other agent. Maybe I could use that to my advantage.
I kept walking till I was in front of the vehicle. I paused. This was not a good idea.
When a hand landed on my shoulder I grabbed it and flung him into the car. Before another guy could react I bolted down the sidewalk.
I ran as fast as I could while avoiding the random people on the streets. I huddled over a small dog and dodged an old lady walking down the street.
I turned a corner and crossed the street dodging an on coming traffic. How did I always get myself into situations like this?
I paused for a moment as I realized the men after me probably knew who I was. I couldn't go home. I couldn't lead them to camp so where could I go?
I turned into an alley but ran into a dead end. I cursed and kicked the wall. Pain shot through my big toe making me curse again. I turned around hoping they hadn't followed me this far only to by disappointed.
My shoulders sagged as all four of the men approached, three were pointing guns at me." Okay guys, you got me."
" Mr. Jackson, we haven't come to harm you. We would just like to ask some questions. We also have a job offer for you. So please come quietly."
" yeah sure," I muttered." That's what they all say." I backed into the wall hoping i could just disappear.
Just as one of then started approaching, a shadow darted around. I looked up and saw a guy in a blue and red body suit fly over head and land in between me and them.
" dude," the spiderman scolded." You can't just chase harmless teenagers around the city."
" Parker," the man warned." He's anything but harmless."
" awe, come on, Man." He complained. The superhero's shoulders sagged." Haven't you heard of a secret identity. You can't just tell the whole world I'm Peter Parker."
" I never said your name was p
I stared on as spiderman have a conversation with this dude.
" one moment." Spiderman holds up his finger as he walked away to the nearby brick wall. He rested his head against it for a moment before banging his head against it a couple of times." Okay, I'm good."
" are you going to let us take him now?"
" fine." The spiderman sighed and used, I guess, his web slingers to swing away.
I looked back at the guys before laughing nervously." It's been nice taking, but I've really got to go."
" Mr. Jackson," the man, Coulson, warned." We just would like to ask some questions so if you would come with us." There was no please this time.
" technically, I'm underage, so you're supposed to talk to my parents." I hoped this would work. Please, please, please.
" if that is what you would like, we can talk with you at your home. Would you like us to give you a ride?"
" no, I'm fine walking." I sighed. The other guys didn't seem to agree with the Coulson guy but they went along with it. The men left the alley and I followed.
Once they were out of sight and hurried home my mom and Paul, hoping to Beat the agent guys there.
