As I stepped up the porch my mind was flowing with thoughts mostly saying- "What the hell are you doing, Ashley?!" I ignored them. I honestly had nothing to live for, my dad is a freaking alcoholic and I basically have no one else. As I walked the stairs creaked and the wooden planks on the floor squeaked. I stepped on the withering doormat that said- "Welcome!!!" Yeah right. I peeked through the dusty glass, but the dark curtains were there, blocking my view. I walked back to the door. I stared at the doorknob for a few seconds. My heart was racing but for some reason, I felt like I had to do this. I don't know why, but I had to. I grabbed the rusty doorknob, and before I even turned it, it opened quickly. My heart skipped about 200 beats. I almost fell off this damn porch, but I caught a grip on the door. I stared in the dark room. It was literally almost complete blackness, like I was staring into some sort of abyss. "Well then.." I said in a whisper. I stepped into the dark area. I didn't move another inch until about a minute. I felt an extremely cold burst of wind, and to my surprise the door slammed shut. I tried twisting the doorknob, but it wouldn't budge, and the windows wouldn't budge either. "Shit, shit, shit!!" "Well, just my luck. Just my fucking luck."
