Hello everyone! I've recently gotten back into the art of Fanfiction, as you can see with my other fanfiction I started. Anywho, I've loved Akise for quite some time and figured it was about time I write a fanfiction for him. So, here it is!

Before you go on, I would request for you to look at the image on the top there. That is a drawing I did of the main character, Kalan. His hair is pink right now in the story, but he later lets the pink fade and just dyes the tips. (His hair is naturally blonde).

So yeah, if anyone has any questions, don't be afraid to ask me! I hope y'all like the first chapter! Comments are appreciated :3

Kalan was never one to be regularly late for work, and in fact it never even happened until today. In his defence it wasn't his fault that his cat was nowhere to be found when he woke up. It wasn't as if he could simply leave for work knowing his cat was missing!

It didn't take long for him to find her, of coarse, the damn thing was just sleeping under his bed. He was only about 10 minutes late anyways, and if he drove quick without rush hour traffic, he would only be 15 minutes late.

He rather despised his navy blue vehicle, he thought the car was much too small. Although he was small for his age, standing at 5'4, he thought the floor of the car was much too close to the ground, as if he could stomp and the floor would collapse and he would end up with badly mangled feet. The moral of that imagination was to not stomp on the floor of the car.

He'd only been working at the Police station for a good 9 months, after he'd finished his courses at College. Well, finished was rather inaccurate. It was more like he quit when he knew he had enough information required to be a detective. He wasn't a detective yet though, not yet. He was merely a detective in training.

Nishijima had taken a strong liking to him almost the moment he arrived as a training detective. He would be his mentor, as he was the boss, the lead man in charge of everything and everyone in the entire building. The previous boss had retired at a young age to be with his family, which was understandable considering his son was ripe with illness. Nobody had questioned him about it, as far as Kalan knew.

"Sorry I'm late sir!" He scrambled into the office, panting from the harsh climb up the stairwell. The climb was only harsh if you were running and or rushing, which mostly came hand in hand.

Nishijima was sitting at his desk, drinking his coffee as he always did. Kalan always noticed how much freaking sugar he put in it, at least eight tablespoons, and not to mention the amount of creamer.

"Oh, Kalan you just got here?" He raised his head, setting his coffee down as he did so. Honestly, this man was so clueless, he didn't even notice when his pupil was 20 minutes late. Kalan often reflected upon the possibility that this whole facility somehow hadn't fallen to the ground under his supervision.

"I apologize sir, it won't happen again." 'If Meme decides not to disappear again.'

He sighed, shaking his head in an amused manner, which only looked like he was annoyed, but he didn't really pull off the annoyed expression very well. "How many times are you gonna keep calling me sir, Kalan? I told you, just call me Nishijima."

"I'll stop calling you sir when you stop calling me by my first name." Kalan retorted.

"You don't like your first name?" Nishijima asked, even though they might have gone over this already a bit more than seven thousand times.
