Kalan wanted to rush right up to Akise and ask what the hell he had against the colour pink, but he refrained. There were currently bigger fish to fry, like the gristly murder that they were clearly here to investigate. Akise's petty appearance preferences would have to wait until later.

It wasn't as if his hair was fully coloured pink anyways, his bangs which he let hang loose in his face, though the rest of his hair was a wrangled mess sticking up from his head, were only tickled pink at the ends.

At any rate, Akise was practically bounding towards the scene, the heels of his feet lifting off the ground in a steady rhythm. Kalan tsked and walked along after him, hands shoved in his pockets.

'How old is this kid anyways? Certainly too young to be bossing me around.'  Kalan thought.

Nishijima was suddenly running towards the two of them, the look on his face spelled out perplexed. He ran to stand in front of them, panting. Kalan stood beside Akise, rather reluctantly. He was standing so close that he could smell him, they were shoulder to shoulder, though not touching. He smelled like a mix between new books and how a game controller would smell had you been using it for awhile, with an aroma of a teenage boyish scent, not bad, but not exemplary either. Kalan found it odd that he could pinpoint it so easily.

"Guys, there's no body." Nishijima said, hands on his knees as he struggled to breath. Meanwhile, Akise gaped at him, eyes furrowed, looking rather pissed off and another bit like he was recognizing something, though Kalan didn't know what.

"Uhm, you did say this was a murder?" Kalan said, not quite believing the statement himself. Had somebody just taken the body, had it up and strayed away somehow?

"Yes, but when the team got here, they said there was no body! I just now heard it." Nishijima replied, composing himself to stand.

"But you got a report that the home's alarm systems were triggered and went off this morning, and the home surveillance shows a murder." Akise said. Kalan listened and then wondered how the hell he'd known such details when Kalan hadn't even been informed.

"Well, they're prepared to watch the footage taken, but for now, there's no body."

Akise now looked ruffled, his eyes were slightly wider than before. He looked as if he was fully aware of something that nobody else was, something concerning. They followed Nishijima inside the crime scene, a regular looking house at the end of a rather un-jostled  neighbourhood. The house was with two floors, and upper and regular floor, the roof towered over the front door in a pyramid shape, and the house was a dark blue colour, looking dark and dreary in light of the events that took place inside of it.

They slowly made their way inside. Truth be told, this wasn't Kalan's first time at a crime scene, but it made him giddy each time he saw a different one. This time, tape was surrounding a corner of the room near a smashed glass door, presumably to the back yard. The room was drafty. Officers were taking evidence all around them from all around the house, blood splatters, possible fingerprints, hair samples, anything of the sort. Hopefully with the footage, though, they could be lucky enough to narrow down a possible suspect.

'At least we could charge them with home invasion if we don't find the body.' Kalan considered, recounting his knowledge from Law school.

Akise already had his eyes fixed on someone's laptop screen nearby on what looked to be the dining room table, though it had a plastic cloth draped over it, to preserve possible evidence. Kalan leaned over his shoulder to get a better look. There was a hooded figure crouched behind the sliding glass door, looking through the glass with their hands cupped on either sides of their face, though nobody could pinpoint any facial features because of the darkness. They stayed in that position for about 10 minutes, when suddenly they turned around and retrieved an axe from some sort of bag behind them, and then proceeded to smash the door. The house alarm began blaring, but the figure didn't run. Instead, they looked at something they pulled out of their hoodie pocket. After a few moments, a light illuminated their face and it was clear that it was a phone they were looking at. Beside him, Kalan felt Akise stiffen.
