"Dean, I swear I heard her tell Gretchen that she remembers what he did to her."
"No way she would keep that from Roman."
"Maybe she wants him to prove that he regrets what he did."
"I doubt it, Melissas not that cruel."
"She was with Bray for the last part of the year. Who knows what he filled her head with?"
"Let's go pay her a visit."
When we arrived she was curled up on Romans couch. He wouldn't let her out of his sight. Or his house. "Oh great," I heard her mutter. "What do you two want? Badger me with more questions? Why don't you people just leave me alone? Doesn't anyone get it, I don't want to be here. I never wanted to be here."
Dean chuckled, "You know that reminds me of something we talked about on our first meeting with you at the Selection. You were just as scared then as you are now."
She rolled her eyes. "I am not Melissa. So please stop trying to force it onto me."
"Hey, Dean, you remember what Melissas wolf was called?"
"Yeah, it was Abigail," he said ruefully.
"I'm warning you now, back off. This is between me and Roman." Her eyes darkened. She is returning to us. But I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not for Roman and the children.
"And what about the children, don't they deserve to have their mother back? Don't you love them at all?" I questioned.
"I said, back off." Her nails elongated, she screamed in pain. Roman came running into the room. "What's going on?"
"We kinda pissed her off again."
"What do you mean again?"
"She remembers you Roman."
Roman knelt down beside her, taking her hands in his, "Melissa, please forgive me, my love."
She pulled her hands out of his, slapping him across the face. "You have no right to call me that anymore. You broke everything we had."
"I know, and I want to fix it. I hate myself for what I did to you."
"Who was she?"
Roman shrunk away from Melissa, he didn't answer her.
"Who was she?" She asked again.
He bolted from the room.

Gretchens POV
Romans standing in my living room pacing. "I can't tell her about Jessica. She'll never forgive me. That woman was the reason I ended the Selection in the first place. She threatened Melissa that day, and after Reid was born, I started sleeping with Jessica."
"Why did you start sleeping with her?"
"She claimed it was Melissa who attacked Joelle that night. In my heart I knew it wasn't, but I couldn't be sure. Doubt started to creep in. I started pushing Melissa away."
"Tell Melissa the truth. Even if she doesn't believe you at first, she will listen to you. I believe deep down she still loves you. And with her wolf having taken over, it's proof that Melissa is still deep inside there. Be gentle with her. Don't force her. Take it in easy steps."
"Ok."

Romans POV
It's been two weeks since I talked to Melissa about what happened the night she left. She's slowly coming around. She even sat with the kids today. She avoids me at all costs. Tonight I plan on taking her out for dinner. She reluctantly agreed. As I walked down the stairs, I could hear Joelle say, "You look really pretty, my daddy will love it."
"Joelle, please don't. I can't with your daddy," she said, tears streaming down her face. Joelle pulled her down and said, "Daddy still loves you."
"I know he does sweetie."
"Don't you still love him?"
"Hey you two," I said, "you ready to go?"
Melissa nodded. Joelle wrapped her arms around Melissa, hugging her tight.
I took her hand and led her out to the car. We drove in silence, I caught her staring at me. She ducked her head. When we got to our destination, I led her down to the beach, where I had set up a picnic. She smiled slightly. As we sat there and talked, I slid my hand onto her stomach. "So any day now, huh?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"I'm sorry that I wasn't there for this."
"It's ok."
"No it's not ok, it's my fault that you were taken. It's my fault that you were hurt. It's my fault that..."
"Roman stop. I don't blame you."
I looked at her dumbfounded. She smiled at me. "I can't stay mad at you forever. Besides Joelle's right, I do still love you."
"Ow, what was that for?" I asked.
"For being a jerk."
"Babygirl, let me ask you one thing. What was Brays plan?"
"Hello Roman."
Shit she set me up. And here I was thinking she had changed. She smirked at me, walking towards Bray. Kissing him in the process. That was the last thing I saw before my world went black.
