 "Fuck me," she muttered.

"No thank you, but your husband is a good fuck."

She straightened and held her saber loosely at her side. "If you are trying to make me mad, that is not going to work. You know our marriage isn't based on love."

She let her whip uncoil. "But you do love your little brother." A sadistic smiled flashed pearly white teeth at her. "And I will tell you that he is so much fun to torture. It takes so little for him to start screaming your name."

Her hand clenched on her sword. "Bitch, you are going to die here tonight." She lifted her saber into attack position and took a step forward.

The whip came flying at her, and she used her saber as a shield. The whip wrapped around the weapon and slashed at her hand. She abandoned the weapon and pulled her remaining push dagger as she rushed at her cousin. Her cousin's weapon was fearsome but demanded distance. Close quarters combat wasn't her strong point, unlike Lyss, who excelled at it.

Her cousin whipped out a short sword and their blades met with a clang of steel on steel. It was now coming down to brute force and the ability to throw the opposing opponent off balance. Lyss gritted her as she pushed at her cousin as much as she could. Sebille's foot slid back, and she abandoned her whip to bring up a fist aimed at Lyss' stomach. Lyss jumped back and slashed at Sebille. She didn't connect, but she hadn't expected to.

Sebille began an attack of surprising speed that Lyss had never seen before and had her switching to defense. It was several minutes before she saw an opening. If she hadn't been watching for it, she would have missed it, it was that small. She took a step into the strike and took damage as she plunged her dagger into her cousin's heart. Sebille's face went slack with shock. Lyss yanked her dagger back and watched dispassionately as Sebille crumbled to the ground.

There was no pain in taking her cousin's life. Instead, she felt relieved that she had ended the life of at least one monster that was hunting her. Her aches and pains were starting to come back again to haunt her and this time, it was worse than before. Her side was screaming at her. She put her hand to her side and hissed in pain. There was a deep gash where she had taken the blow; her hand was wet with blood. It was worth it, and she would do it all over again if she had to.

"Lyssandra," she heard Kieran yell for her. "I need you!"

She limped outside of the library, stepping over the bodies and made her way over to Kieran, who was only feet from her. He was kneeling next to a body, and as she got closer, she saw that it was Vincent. She ignored the pain in her body and rushed over to him. He was pale, sweating profusely, and his breathing was slower than normal.

"What happened?"

"Sebille. He's dying. She struck him with a poisoned dagger, and it's already affecting his heart."

"No, no, no," she cried in denial as she wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into her lap. "He just needs blood. Give me a dagger!"

"No! You cannot! It is forbidden!"

"I don't fucking care. Give me a blade or I'll use one of my own daggers."

He pulled a dagger from out of his many sheaths and handed it to her hilt first. She snatched the dagger from him quickly and made a quick slash over her forearm. She pressed her wound against Vincent's mouth.

"Come on." Tears were running down her face. She had lost too much in such a short amount of time. She couldn't lose someone else. "Drink, dammit!" There was nothing. "Kieran, open his mouth." He would have to be force fed. He was too weak to do it himself, and she was more than willing to help him out.

"Your father is going to kill me," Kieran muttered as he leaned over and pried open Vincent's mouth.

"He'll get over it." She placed the wound over his mouth and watched as the blood slowly dripped into his mouth. He sluggishly reached up and pulled the wound more tightly against his mouth. She winced in pain as his teeth extended and sunk further into her vein. She didn't pull away from him. The pain was not important as long as it was giving him a fighting chance. "That's right." She brushed his dirty hair away from face. "Take what you need. You need to live; you're important to me."
