Sophia Pov
It's so hard to just give all your love to someone that is probably still in love with his ex crush. I want to make my relationship with Cameron work out, but it's Maddie that keeps holding it back for me. I know she is out to get me and get Cameron all to herself but why now when she could've had him a long time ago when he wanted her. I'm really trying not to get hurt again. I really can't let that happen. I really do love Cameron and he makes me happy. I'm just hoping all goes well.

My past wasn't the best but I want my future to be. If I can't be happy then I don't know what I'll do. I can't get hurt again. I don't want to get hurt again. I just wanna be happy again I want to be able to just wake up depress free.
Cameron POV
Sophia thinks that I still like my ex Maddie. She thinks I still have something for her. But the thing is I don't. I really just want Sophia and only her. But she won't understand. I just don't want Maddie in the way of it all.

Cameron texts Sophia.
Convo between Sophia and Cameron:
Cameron: Hey Sophia baby you up.
Sophia: yea
Cameron: can we talk
Sophia: about?
Cameron: Maddie
Sophia: wht😒
Cameron: I know you think I still like Maddie but I don't. I like you. I want you. I only want you. You literally completely changed my life. Maddie means nothing to me.
Sophia: how do I know that for sure?
Cameron: Look out your window.
Sophia: why
Cameron: plz just do it
Sophia: fine *looks out the window*
(Out her window is Cameron and he sings "The Way by Kehlani"  once he sees her come out the window)
Cameron: All I dooooo is stay up all night losing sleep over you. Yea all I dooooo is drive myself crazy thinking bout my baby." Sophia you really make me happy. I am very glad that God has but someone like you in my life. You really complete me and I wouldn't be happier with you. No one compares to you baby. No one.  (Surprises Sophia with a little gift of flowers and a gift bag full of makeup that Sophia had wanted) Maddie is nothing to me. Sophia I really do want to spend the rest of my life with you but I want to focus on now with you rather than the future. (Climbs to Sophia's window) I just want you to give me a chance and not think about Madison at all. Trust me she won't take you away.
Sophia: oohhhh Cameron this is OMG this is tooooo much. You really didn't have to.
Cameron: no I had to
Sophia: for what
Cameron: so I can show you that I really do like you and I don't care about Maddie BC it was like you didn't believe it.
Sophia: well you did very good at tht
Cameron: I'm glad to hear that.

Cameron: (gives Sophia the flowers and the bag)
Sophia: (takes the bag and the flowers) thank you very much babe

Sophia: (gets closer to Cameron)
Cameron: *kisses Sophia
Sophia: *kisses back*
Mrs. Cortez: I think that's enough

Cameron: hi Mrs. Cortez
Mrs. Cortez: hello Cameron. Sophia come downstairs to the kitchen when you are finish because your dad wants to talk to you.
Sophia: okay mommy.
Mrs. Cortez leaves the room.
Mrs. Cortez POV:
Sophia and Cameron have been hanging out a lot. I know that they are together because I always catch them kissing. I know she really likes him and that he likes her a lot as well but I just don't want my baby to get hurt again. After what happens the last time with her ex she has lost trust for anyone. I hope not me. I want her to be happy.

With her father in the military it has been hard for her more and more. It's also hard for me because I do miss my baby. I just wish that he can come back and we can be one big happy family again. I miss him more than anything.

Convo on Skype with Mr. Cortez:
Ethan: hey baby
Suzanne: hey my love
Ethan: is Sophia coming?
Suzanne: yes she will be right down
Ethan: okay
Ethan: uh baby I need to tell u this before I tell Sophia
Suzanne: okay tell me
Ethan: I am soon going into war today. I don't know how long it will be and if I would or wouldn't come back. But if I don't come back just remember that you and Sophia are the best blessings I have EVER received from God. I love you both very much. Suzanne Marie Cortez, you had satisfied all my needs. You were there for me no matter what position we both were in. I am very happy to be your baby daddy and you husband. If I die in the war promise that you won't be sad but you can be sad but not forever. To let my death keep you from finishing our family. Find someone who will love you as I have loved you. If he is the one marry him. Marry him and create a bigger family with that person. Once again I LOVE YOU. Don't forget that.
Suzanne: *starts to cry* I love you more.
Ethan: you promise to do what I wish if I die.

Sophia comes down with Cameron
Sophia's POV
So I come down the stairs and enter the kitchen with Cameron. But then, I notice that my mom is crying which means I am going to receive a message from my dad that won't be good. I really love my dad and he means as much as my mom means to me. I just hope that it's not all tht bad.

Me: uh mom why are you crying
Mrs. Cortez: *wipes her tears* your dad wants to talk to you babes.
Me: okay *walks towards the laptop*
Mr. Cortez(daddy): hey baby girl
Me: hi daddy
Daddy: how are you
Me: I am fine how about you
Daddy: I am fine as well
Me: uh I have a question
Daddy: what would you like for me to answer
Me: when are you coming home?
Daddy: baby girl I really don't know.
Me: I miss you
Daddy: I miss you more.
Me: why was mom crying?
Daddy: that's what I needed to tell you.
Me: about?
Daddy: I am soon going into war. I don't know when it will end. I don't know if I will leave or survive. But, if I die....
Me: (cuts daddy off) I don't want to hear more. YOU WILL NOT DIE! I don't want you to. I need you daddy. I really do.
Daddy: baby girl just listen to what I have to tell you. Please.

Me: okay
Daddy: like I was saying if I die I want you to not spend the rest of your life sad over my death. I want you to grow up to into a good university. Follow your dream as wanting to be a doctor. Because you will succeed. Grow older and find someone who will be by your side no matter what. Find someone who will love you not hurt you. Grow even older and get married to that person tht loves you the way I love you. Have kids. One thing I want is for you to never forget me. Always remember that I will be watching over you. You and ur mother are the best blessings in my life. I am glad that you and your mother were put into my life. Lastly, I love you Sophia Marie Cortez. I love you more than the words that I am saying to you. I will FOREVER love you. Never give up on your mother. When she is going through a hard time be there for her even when she makes you go crazy. Me: *balls her eye out with tears* daddy please don't leave me and mom. Please don't. Please I neeeeed yoo......oou! I need you!
Daddy: *tears falls* be strong my love. Be strong for me.
Mom: (hugs Sophia)
Daddy: Suzanne be there for her as well. Support her right decisions. Help her when she needs you. Be her temporary father.
Me: dad I wanted to tell u this in the beginning.
Daddy: what do you need to tell me princess?
Me: I have a boyfriend and he is here. I promise we haven't done anything that is against your rules. I wouldn't do tht. But I  wanted you to meet him. (Calls Cameron)
Cameron: hello mr. Cortez.
Daddy: hello son, I just wanna tell u this like I said to Sophia I am going to war so I don't know if I will die or survive so I say this to you now, do not hurt my daughter. Do not force her to do something that she doesn't want to do. Take her into you loving arms. Comfort her when I am come. I repeat do not hurt her. I promise to you I will have my connection even when I am gone. Suzanne you know what I am talking about in connection and who you can call.
Mom: yas I do
Daddy: So I guess your name is Cameron so Cameron do not screw it up. Love my daughter not hurt my daughter.  Okay?
Cameron: yas sir. I will love your beautiful daughter forever. I promise not to hurt her. I promise Sophia tht I won't hurt you.
Me: you better keep your promise.

Me: daddy when do u exactly go to war.
Daddy: in 4 days.

Daddy: if they change the schedule I will call you before the war for sure.

This news that my dad told me got me really down. I need my Dad in my life. I love him so much. The things he told me makes me just UGGGGHHH! Why does he have to go to the military? Why does he have to? I want him here with me. I just don't want to leave without him.

Narrative POV
The day before Mr. Cortez went to war he called Sophia and her mom. They talked. Sophia told him everything that has been going on with her. Suzanne told him about the regular things that she would tell him as if it was a day tht he was there. The next day he went to war and it was very crazy. Many lives were lost. But was his life taken by a bullet?
2 days after that.........
Suzanne Cortez POV
I was in the kitchen cooking dinner for Sophia and I. Sophia was in her room. She comes downstairs to the living room and the door bell rings. Sophia goes to answer the door. She calls me and I go to the door. It was the Chief of the military.

Chief: good afternoon madam
Me: good afternoon.
Chief: I am sorry but I have some bad and good news.
Me: what?
Chief: Mr.Cortez has been.......
