Love Knows No Age

The Dream

Devin took my hand and smiled He look very nervous. He leaned in, softly kissing me, causing tiny butterflies to flutter in my tummy. After pecking me on my soft lips, he kissed my cheek too. He quietly recited the words, "I love you," in my ear before taking steps forward, exploring the new city of Paris. We slowly walked in silence taking in all the breathtaking scenery of Paris. I finally broke the barrier of the blissful silence. "it's so beautiful, and perfect, its what I have always wanted. Thank  you babe." Devin stepped in front of me, taking both of my hands. Taking a moment to look into my eyes, he pulled me into a tight loving embrace.

I  looked around for a split second, noticing we were right in front of the Eiffel Tower. The landscape around us was beautiful. An angelic orange landscape was to the right. I looked forward expecting Devin's face to be at level with mine, but instead I look down to see him kneeling on one knee if front of me. Shocked, I put my hands over my mouth, trying not to cry out of pure happiness.

"Lilly, I know you are only 18, but its been four amazing years with you. The happiest, most amazing four years of my life. I've never been with someone like you. You're just so different...and perfect. Ever since thew first time I laid eyes on you, you've made me the happiest person alive. With you, there's never been a dull moment. Even though no one has ever accepted or approved of us, we've stood by each other and never gave up. No one could ever break us apart. No matter what. Lilly, will you marry me?"

There was tiny moment of silence. I t was me just taking the the most perfect moment of my life. "Of course Devin. Of course I will marry you." He abruptly got off o f the kneel position he was in, and hugged me. The small group that was gathered around us started cheering and clapping. Everything in my life was finally perfect.

He slid the ring onto my tiny, yet long finger, and kissed me. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

I was suddenly awoken by the sound of my phone ringing. Goddammit, Just another unrealistic dream. I knew it was too good to be true. He's almost 20. And I'm 14. He could and would never fall for me. And its illegal. Might I add. I needed to get up and get dressed for school. Fuck my life. Just another day of shit and assholes to deal with . Fucccckkkkk.
