Whitney's POV
Wow these people were nice. I couldn't believe that the cheerleaders and football players were talking to me like I was a friend. All the things I had ever been told about high school, they weren't true at all. All the fan fictions I read were a lie, like was my life a lie too? I shook the thought out of my mind and snapped back into reality as I felt a hand snake around my waist and pull me closer. I looked up to see a smirking Tyler and I simply rolled my eyes with an amused grin lingering on my lips.
"So are you two love birds officially together?" Carlos said glancing between me and Tyler. "I mean not re-" I said before getting cut off by Tyler "Yeah we just got together a couple of days ago, we just haven't made a big deal about it" Tyler said a bit quicker an higher pitched than normal. So his voice gets higher when he lies? I held in a giggle but it escaped for a moment. I quickly shut my mouth only to see a scowling Tyler looking directly at me. I blushed lightly feeling like a kid who got in trouble with their parents and looked down.
I heard the table erupt in laughter which only made me blush harder.
"AWWWWW look! We made the happy couple embarrassed!!" May said squealing pulling on Carlos' arm. I nervously laughed and looked up at Tyler who was also blushing. As soon as his eyes met mine he looked away not wanting me to see his face.
I narrowed my eyes, this looked like a challenge. I poked at his sides as he squirmed "Tylerrrrrr look at meee" I whispered to him still poking him. "Stop." He roughly said which in my opinion was adorable. "Look at me!" I said a bit louder starting to tickle him. "S-Stop it Whitney!" He said between laughing. "I should call you Rosey because you're the one blushing!" I said giggling and continuing to tickle him holding him close to me as he squirmed.
"Leave me alone!" He said squeaking at the end as he ran away. "Baby come back!" I sang running after him, I probably looked like a mad woman. I chased him out of the lunchroom hearing his friends laughter behind us as they cheered me on. I chased him down the hall laughing the whole way until he stopped. "Rosey stop! I don't want to be tickled okay??!" He said looking frustrated. I stopped dead in my tracks feeling stunned. "Oh..okay" I said sadly turning to walk away. "Rosey, please don't be sad" he said placing a hand on my shoulder but I shrugged it off and continued to walk away. I'm not going to play his games.
After my classes were over I walked to the parking lot ugh dad where are you I thought just as I received a text from him.
Dad: Hey sweetie I had to go to work early today so ride the bus, love you.
I mentally groaned, I couldn't stand the bus. The kids were always way too loud. I slowly drug myself towards the buses when I felt someone grab my waist from behind. "I'm taking you home" a gruff voice said in my ear. I shivered at the voice and knew exactly who it was. "No thanks" I said attempting to pull away. "That wasn't a question Rosey" he said and I blushed at my nickname. "I don't want to go with you, you hurt my feelings" I said sighing sadly, he really did hurt me. "Well let me make it up to you, you don't wanna take the bus do you?" He said and I could feel him smirk. I bit my lip and pondered it for a moment. I finally gave in and walked past him. "Are you coming or not?" I said looking back at him impatiently which made him smirk.
As we got in his car I noticed how nice it was. It was a shiny black mustang with black leather seats. We sat in the parking lot for a while just enjoying the quietness.
"So why did you get so upset earlier in the lunchroom?" I ask after a moment of pure silence.
"I just felt embarrassed. Everyone was laughing at me" He said softly
"Tyler" I trail off placing a hand on his shoulder. He finally looked at me and I could see that he was sad, I felt bad for him. "They weren't laughing at you, they were laughing at us, probably because you looked so adorable running away from a mad woman like me" I say giving him a comforting smile. We gaze at each other for a few seconds before he leans in and plants a soft and careful kiss onto my lips. It was so gentle that if it had not been for the sparks and butterflies that I had felt I'd probably not even know that he had done it.
"what was that for?" I said in a whisper. "I saw Elliot so um, yeah." he said a bit higher pitched.
"You like me don't you?" I said smirking at home confidently.
"You wish Rosey!" he started to blush and looked away. 'This is going to be fun' I thought to myself. I pulled up his chin so that he was looking at me in the eyes. "So since you don't like me I guess you wouldnt mind if I did this.." I trailed off before I started to plant soft kisses down his neck. He started to tighten up and I knew that my plan was working. "Whitney you shouldn't do that" Tyler whined making me laugh breathlessly. I ignored him and continued. "I'm not giving in Whitney. I'm taking you home" he said shakily before pushing me off him gently.
The ride home was quiet, it was just filled with me singing along with the radio while Tyler stared straightforward stiffly. He was even still blushing, I giggled quietly to myself because I made him feel that way.
When he parked the car I said goodbye and made my way to my front door. As I went to unlock the door I didn't even have the chance to open it because my back was roughly pushed up against it by Tyler. I gasped but he didn't care as he passionately kissed me. I immediately responded kissing him back as I wrapped my arms around his neck while my hands got lost in his hair. When we came up for air he smirked at me, "Now we're even" he winked before getting in his car leaving me flustered on my porch. "Wow.." I mumbled to myself touching my lips.
