A/N: Hey guys. I'm back for another chapter. This one should be longer than the last. I guess you don't want to waste time reading this instead of the actual story. So here is the next chapter.
***Lerinth's POV***
We walked out of the portal and it quickly closed afterward. "So, who exactly are these hunters?" I asked. He frowned.
"They are the beast hunters. They hunt beasts like us. Tailed beasts." He replied, then turned away. I could tell he wanted to drop the subject. I didn't care.
"Why?"
He sighed. "We don't have any leads as to why. We do know that they are controlled by a man named Jon."
Jon...that name sounded familiar. "Wait...you mean the King of the Abyssal Rift?"
He smiled. "It seems you have some of your memory. Yes, him."
I looked slightly annoyed. "If we know who it is then why haven't we gone to take him out?"
He thought for a second. "I....actually, I have no idea."
I growled and opened a portal. "Where are you going?" He asked. I didn't give him the obvious answer, but instead pushed him inside with me.
The Rift was dark. Red skies and black buildings. I instantly searched for the castle. I didn't exactly remember where it was, but I had a rough idea. Soon enough I spotted it. I smiled in satisfaction and began walking. Then Demorak grabbed my cloak. "Um...where do you think your going?"
I rolled my eyes at his question and was about to reply but I heard a cry.
"Anyone, please help me!" The voice sounded female, which made it all the more urgent for me to take action. I pulled away from Demorak and dashed towards the castle. My hearing was the best out of anyone I've ever met as well as my sense of smell, which helped. My fear was confirmed. I smelled blood. My speed instantly doubled. Demorak was left completely in the dust. That is until I was intercepted by the castle guards. Demorak was also quickly cornered. I growled in annoyance as I didn't have time for this.
"Demorak, kill these fools. I have to do hero work."
He sighed. He knew bu my hard expression the I wasn't lying and that it was an emergency. "Fine, but you better hurry."
I then pushed past the guards and forced my way into the castle. I ran straight into the room where the screams were. What I saw, was unbearable.***To be continued***
