After his brief and heartbreaking time in Mystic Falls, all Henrik Mikaelson wants to do is forget. Forget that he has a family full of complete psychos, forget that he has a new sister he has never heard about, forget that he now has a niece who is an all new species on her own, and forget that he had his heart ripped out by the person he had loved perhaps a little too much. All he wants to do is wallow in self-pity, drown his sorrows in alcohol, and maybe hook-up with a few cute boys and girls on the way. He has no intention of going back to Mystic Falls, nor does he have any intention of going to that godforsaken city that is New Orleans.

So of course a prophecy detailing the fall of every member of the Mikaelson family—which unfortunately included him — popped up out of nowhere, making him pack his things and head over to New Orleans immediately. He may hate his family, and he may want to stay as far away from their drama as possible, but they were still his family.

And the only people who were allowed to hurt or threaten Mikaelsons were other Mikaelsons.
