A group of guys surrounded my helpless girlfriend.
"Hey Haley where's your idiot boyfriend?" One yelled.
"Yeah where's Jacob?" The other taunted.
"Just leave me alone, please."Haley said trying to hold back her tears and trying to escape the group. I watched her from a distance, unsure of what to do.
"How about you come home with me?" The tallest boy said seductively. The others started to grab her arms.
"No stop!" Haley yelled trying to release from their grasp. I ran over to them.
" Hey leave my girlfriend alone!" I yelled pulling the tall one off my girlfriend. He looked at me with fire in my eyes and pushed Haley down to the ground
"What are you going to do about Calderon?" He asked clenching his fist. I clenched my fists getting ready to fight him. I felt my fists getting hotter and hotter but didn't realize at it at the time. I punched him across his face and he yelled in pain, half his face burned
"Holy shit! Jacob's hands are on fire!" Someone yelled and all the boys ran away. I didn't understand what they meant but as I looked down at my hands they were fists of fire. Confused and scared I yelled. I closed my eyes begging that the fire would stop. Then I had felt myself cool down and my hands were back to normal.
"Jacob what's going on?" Haley asked me in confusion. Her blonde hair covered in dirt from when she fell and her crystal blue eyes about to tear up.
"I don't know Haley." I told her and pulled her into a hug. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I wrapped mine around her waist.
"I don't know." I said. That was the day I found out that I am not "normal", that I was someone I had no idea I was.
