Chapter 2

I grab my stuff and head downstairs. I grab my phone from the kitchen table and sit down on the couch. I turn it on and see my screensaver of me and Haley on the beach. God, I can't believe she is gone. I slide my phone open to change the screensaver and I put just a simple one.

"Jake let's go the airport now!" I hear my mom yell. I grab my things and head to the garage. I open the trunk and throw my bags in and slip into the second row of my mom's white SUV. My dad is in the drivers seat and my mom in the passenger seat. My dad pulls out if the garage and we head to the airport.

"How did you hear about this place?" I ask them

"Do you remember Justin?" My mom asks.

"Justin Martinez?" I ask.

"Yes. He has powers too." My mom said

"Wow, What kind?" I ask

"Not so sure."

" What does this have to do with the school."

"He goes there."

"That explains why he left last year."

"His mom told me and last night we applied. We received an email right away saying that they can take you in today. You will be going on a private plane."

"Sweet." I say placing on my Beats and play Green Day on full blast. I go through my photos on my phone and delete all of the ones of Haley and I or just Haley. All 256 photos. I suddenly feel a slap in my leg.

"Ow! What was that for?" I ask taking off my Beats.

"We are at the airport let's go." My dad says. I walk out of the car and grab my stuff from the car. My parents and I walk into the airport to receive my ticket. My mom goes up to the counter and my dad and I stay behind.

"So your excited about the school."

"Kinda. I don't want it to backfire." I say

"What do you mean?" My dad asks

"Like in the movies and books were you think things are going to be amazing but suddenly backfire and turn horrible. I don't want them to destroy my powers or something or turn me evil."

"Don't worry son, you will be alright." My dad says and I nod in agreement. My mom comes back with my ticket. She hands me a piece of paper with the words "EAS Private Plane."

"Okay so your going to go through security and someone is going to go get you and you will leave." She says. I nod my head and give her a hug. Then I part the hug and hug my dad. I grab my things and head towards the security check point. I turn around to see my parents waving at me. I turn back around and walk forward

I finally approach the security guard. I hand him my ticket and he leads me away from the security check and takes me to the airplane gates. As we walk I see two men dressed in black suits and we stop right in front of them.

"Jacob Calderon?" One asks

"Yes?"

"We are here to take you to EAS."

"Alright." I say and the two men take me to the back of the airport. They open the gate and we walk into the runway. I see a medium size plane and we head inside it.
