The challenge was to describe each day of the week as if it were a person. Novelninja I hope you enjoy!

As a kid, I loved hearing Great Uncle Rogers' stories. He would always tell the most peculiar tales. They weren't very realistic, and maybe not as intriguing as they could have been, but my little 6 year old brain loved them. I remember one Sunday afternoon, me and Uncle Rogers were sitting on the chairs he had on his porch. Drinking ice cold lemonade and watching the sun go down on the horizon, tinting the sky with pinks and oranges.

He said to me, "You know Matt, Sunday was always my favorite of the days."

I looked up at him from my lemonade, and asked "Why is that?"

"Well, back when I was younger I used to work in a company with the craziest staff. I remember clearly though, that there were seven people there who were the strangest of them all. They were all named after the days of the week."

I raised an eyebrow, "Really?"

"Oh yes," Uncle Rogers continued, "Monday was a big man who seemed to always be tired, with dark bags under his bloodshot eyes. He had no more than four hairs on his head, and they were always standing up. Monday was a bit of an outcast, see. No one liked him, and he was a bit too clingy. Always ruining your day with his bad mood."

"What about Tuesday?" I eagerly asked, leaning towards him.

Uncle Rogers chuckled, "Tuesday wasn't a very fun fellow. Always working. I have to admit, she was the most productive and professional of all of us. Her makeup was always perfect, and she wore a brightly colored pantsuit everyday. Her neatly combed hair was always in a tight bun. Whenever you asked her if she wanted to hang out, or even go to a party, she'd say "I'm working.'"

Uncle Rogers took a sip of his lemonade, "I was never sure if Wednesday liked me, he was a bit of a procrastinator. A short man who wore clothes that were in between professional and casual. I remember he never got much done, always daydreaming. Wednesday focused more on the future than the present. He was very optimistic though, I'll give him that."

"What was Thursday like?" I asked.

"Thursday was a nice, put together gal. She was also very professional, but not as much as Tuesday. She was more casual, and yet she could be loads of fun. Thursday was always telling funny childhood stories. I remember she always wore a fancy dress, with her long hair up in a ponytail."

"Friday was a great guy. He was the one friend who I was always waiting to hang out with. At first, he was a bit boring, but once he got comfortable he was really fun. You could either just hang out at home, or go out and party. He was okay with anything," Uncle Rogers leaned back on his chair, "Friday always wore suspenders with crazy patterns on them. He was a tall man, way over six feet tall. Friday had a bright smile that would always make your day."

"Are you going to tell me why Sunday was your favorite?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Uncle Rogers smiled, "Right after Saturday. Saturday was always partying. He wore brightly colored clothing, and seemed to get a little too excited about everything. It seemed as if he were drunk every time I talked to him."

"Finally, Sunday was an amazing person. She had curly blonde hair and a kind smile. Everyone was always too clingy with her. She was loads of fun, and time went by fast when you were with her. Sunday loved brunch, and she hated Monday more than anyone else. I could always relax around Sunday."

Uncle Rogers smiled down at me, then looked up at the darkening sky. As if remembering his time with these people.

I never knew why this story was always my favorite of his. All I know is that even when I'm an old man, I'll still be telling the story of Great Uncle Rogers and the seven days of the week.
