It's Christmas Eve and like usual my whole family goes to my Great Aunt Mary's Christmas party. The only difference is this year Cameron's in town so he's going too. This is the first time he's going to meet my whole family, all my cousins, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles, everyone goes to the party.
"Okay, are you ready for this?" I ask him while we're sitting in his car outside her house.
"I think so, I hope so." He looks out at the house.
"My family is pretty chill so you don't have much to worry about. The only people that might give you trouble is my Aunt Maggie and my cousin Toby." I warn him, "My Aunt Maggie is just kinda crazy when she drinks a lot and there's going to be a lot of alcohol at this party. And my cousin Toby is just an ass but he's actually one of my favorites. He just might get over protective." I finish and see Cameron's eyes widen a little. "But don't worry babe, you're going to do great." I reassure him.
"Okay let's do this." He says getting out of the car. Before we enter I give him a quick kiss just so he knows it'll be fine.
Once we open the door we are immediately attacked my relatives. It's a swarm of people all saying 10 different things. My Aunt Jo screams he's a cutie and my Aunt Maggie agrees. I see my cousins and so I grab Cameron's arm to drag him over to them.
"These are the people we want to talk to. If we stay with this group we'll be fine." I whisper in his ear.
Once we get up to the group I give my cousin Shay and Kenzie a hug. Toby just gives me a nod and I return one. I then give my cousin Nick a hug. "Also Nicks gay so if he checks you out don't be weirded out." I also whisper to Cameron. He just nods and smiles at everyone. "Well guys, this is Cameron. He's cool, don't hurt him." I joke with them. They all agree except Toby.
"No promises." He says. I just roll my eyes at him.
"I'm not scared. Bring it on." Cameron says in a challenging tone. Toby smirks, I know he has something up his sleeve. I grab Cameron's hand, knowing he's in trouble he gives me a worried look.
"Aunt Cathy!" Toby yells out, "Come over here and meet Y/N's boyfriend!" I look at him with wide eyes.
"Aunt Cathy's here?" I freak.
"Oh yeah she is." Toby says with a proud smile.
"Who's Aunt Cathy?" Cameron asks.
"She's an interesting person." I say and then I hear Cathy's loud mouth. "Good luck."
"Y/N who is this young man with you?" Cathy says rather loud.
"I'm Cameron." He says and extends his hand. She rejects it and goes straight for the hug. I thought she was going to squish him.
"Well aren't you something. You got a good one Y/N, he's very attractive." My Aunt Cathy winks at me.
"Thank you, I think." I say to her.
"Well you two have fun, but not too much. There's eyes everywhere here." She gives us one last wink and walks away. I let out a breath. I turn towards Toby and give him a death glare.
"I can't believe you did that." I say kind of amused.
"You have to admit that was a good move." He says.
"Yeah I'll give you that." Cameron says and gives Toby a pat on the back.
"I like you, you're pretty chill." Toby says, "And you could handle Aunt Cathy, you're in the fam now." I laugh.
"Thank you, you have no idea how much that means." Cameron says in a joking voice and puts his hand up to his heart.
"Aunt Maggie is next. Do you think you're ready for that?" I ask him smiling.
"As long as you're by my side, I got it." He says and gives me a quick kiss.
"Oh my god Y/N! Did I just see you make out with your boyfriend!" I hear my Aunt Maggie yell and everyone gets quite.
"Here we go." I say to Cameron.
