Natalia nervously tucked a dark brown lock of hair behind her ear as she cradled her carry-on in her lap. Clinging to it like it would fly away at any moment. She didn't like flights, then again that wasn't the real problem. It wasn't the reason her palms were perspiring or why her legs were trembling. She told her mom she'd try to get a date but she'd lied. Her mom wanted her to get a boyfriend so badly, but Natalia just couldn't. She was a complete idiot when it came to romance.

Nervously looking at her reflection she was greeted by dark, creamy skin, almond shaped eyes framed with ebony lashes, her eyes were a doe-like soft brown, her eyebrows were semi-groomed, her nose was wide and sloped, leading down to a set of thick, curvy lips that could ensnare the attraction of any man or woman, and a defined but not chiseled jaw line. All topped off with some crazy, shoulder length curls. She was beautiful, but no matter how long she stared, she just couldn't believe it. Then in the corner of her reflection, she saw him. He walked swiftly down the aisle, and she turned to look at him. His skin was a pale olive, seamlessly leading to a defined collar bone, slightly large Adam's apple, and a sharp jawline. His lips were a dim pink, thin, but they curved well, his nose seemed to be the perfect shape for his face, his eyes were naturally slightly narrowed and filled with piercing black irises, his lashes medium length on the top but his lower lashes were extremely long, and light brown hair waved down to his ear. His body was lightly defined but not bulging with muscles.

Some people might have considered the handsome stranger completely and utterly average, but not Natalia. Little did she know he viewed her in the same light.

She had the seat by the wall, and he slid into the seat next to her's. It was impossible to deny the way her heart was throbbing now. It was from a whole different kind of nerves. Hot guys didn't just sit next to her. This never usually happened. So the best way to deal with someone you find extremely attractive sitting in the seat right next to your's? Looking out the window and pretending that you never noticed them. Or at least that's what Natalia did. As she tried to calm her pulse. She hoped he'd do the same.

Soon the automated female voice rang out through the plane. "Fasten your seat belts and prepare for lift-off."

Natalia slid her bag under her seat, regretfully. She wanted something to hold onto but instead she crossed her arms over her chest. Hoping she didn't look as awkward as she felt. She hoped to the guy sitting next to her she seemed cool and casual. Why did she care? Why wouldn't she? Should she say something?

Sighing, Natalia turned her head to the window. Then she heard the quiet musical voice ask, "How long is this flight?" Naturally she turned and saw the guy next to her looking at her expectantly. "What?" She asked, "The flight? How long is it?" He repeated. His voice was so calm. Soothing. "Are you a therapist?" The words spilled out her mouth before she could even think about it. His face turned into a mixture of laughter and bemusement. "I'm not." He answered with a slight chuckle. Natalia felt herself go red and her eyes widen. "O-oh um, I'm sorry. It's just your voice sounded therapist-like?" She tried to explain before letting out a huff of breath and adding, "God I'm such an idiot. Sorry. The flight is 7 hours." Natalia could've face palmed.

A guy finally talked to her and she called him a therapist.

Just great.

"So. If I were going to judge your voice, I'd say, um. Aspiring singer?" He pondered. Natalia looked at him in shock. He was actually talking to her. He glanced at her eyes then her lips, and back up. The gesture made her heart flutter. "Unless you think someone with the singing voice of a horse dying by asphyxiation could make in the business, no. Not a singer." Natalia spoke, cursing the way she made her response too long and too honest. God, everything about her screamed disinteresting. Or she thought it did.

He chuckled.

"Autotune can do wonders. My name is Lawrence by the way." He offered a hand, Natalia took it. His grip was warm. "I'm Natalia." Finally, she said something right. He pulled back his hand and smiled. "So, not a singer. What then?" He asked. She shrugged, "Hopeless. You?" Natalia responded. He smiled a little bit more. "Well not hopeless. But right now, I'm very," he leaned as he spoke, gradually making his words more lilted with flirtation, "happy." He answered in a completely innocent tone as if the last three seconds didn't happen. As if he didn't make Natalia's heart have a seizure in her chest. But his face was still close to her's, with a crooked smirk planted firmly on his lips. It took all of Natalia's will not to stare at his lips. But they were so close. He was so close. Hell even if he pulled back he'd still only be an inch or two away because of the cramped seating.

"So what's making you happy?" Natalia asked slowly. He smiled, "The fact I'm sitting next to a beautiful girl." He answered. Natalia looked around. "But the only girl next to you is me - oh." She realized. She wanted to punch herself. A cute guy was flirting with her in the most obvious way as she was still an oblivious idiot. His smile faltered, "You can't see how beautiful you are?" He asked quietly. Natalia stammered out some incoherent nonsense as a response, and he grinned. "Well, we're going to have to change that." He stated. "Starting now." He winked and Natalia's heart exploded.

She shook her head, her curls rigidly flouncing around, "The only beautiful person here is you." Natalia froze up completely after speaking. Oh no, he was going to think she was a creep. But instead his smile went from dazzling to shining with blinding warmth. "Thanks. You should catch some shut eye. We can talk later." His words made her realize how tired she was. It was like someone hit the off switch and she fell asleep.

On his shoulder.

When she woke up it was 30 minutes till landing. She sat up frantically after realizing she'd fallen asleep on him, but he just gave her his heart melting grin. "Looks like sleeping beauty really needed a power nap." He teased. "I'm so sorry for falling asleep on you." She stammered. Lawrence just winked. "Any time. Besides I find your sleep talking cute. Didn't know you found me that attractive."

Natalia's heart stopped, eyes widened. "What?" She nearly shrieked it before realizing they were on a plane. "Kidding. Only kidding." He responded quickly. She smacked his arm, hard. He chuckled. "Ow." He complained. Natalia buried her face in her hands. "You nearly killed me," she mumbled. Her face painted red with blush.

Lawrence chuckled, "You know? Red suits you." He commented. Natalia glared at him. Lawrence grinned evilly. "Here beautiful. Let me make it up to you. We're landing in the same place, how about after a day of resting from jet lag, I'll take you out to dinner?" He asked. Offering a card. Natalia stared at it, slowing taking it. It was a business card.

"Deal?" He asked. Natalia was surprised to find herself grinning.

"Deal."
